Since todays update (DCS 2.7.7.14727) flying the F-14 constantly crashes the game after some time.

I've already sent the error reports with the diag tool.

There are no obvious errors in the log. Try to check the integrity of the game cache.
You have a great computer. But still try to reduce the graphics settings and check the work of the DCS.

Verified game installation, no bad files.
I'll give it a try with reduced graphics settings.

And one more question: does the game crash when using other modules?

It now also happened in the F/A-18c. Took more time then in the F-14 to crash, but it did.
My first thought has been it's F-14 related, because it happened most often on typical AC related stuff like jester calling 'bingo fuel' or on touch down.
But now it just crashed on flight in a F/A-18. log is attached.

Try to verify integrity of game cache again. If this does not solve the problem, please switch to the stable version and check the work of the DCS.

Switching back to stable and then back to openbeta will take 1-2 days to download with the crapy internet connection i have. So that's not an option. I'd rather live with the crashes for some time and hope that the issue will disappear as it arose with the next OpenBeta.

Problem solved by disabeling XMP. Don't know what's going wrong there, because i don't do overclocking, just set the standard RAM parameters via XMP.
Something with the latest open beta is doing strange stuff it seems.

"XMP Certified - Module was programmed with profiles that have passed supplier tests for the CPU and motherboard."
The Modules i have are XMP certified with my board and CPU, that's not what i would call 'Overclocking', it's DDR4-3200 MHz RAM with the specified JDEC timing of the product.

Stuff that helped me with random crashes lately;

1. Deleting all shaders including metashaders and all shadercache folders in terrain module folders etc.

2. making sure my paging file was exactly the right size for the amount of RAM I have on board

3. creating a new saved games folder

4. running a slow repair of DCS

5. cleaning out ALL the dust from the gpu sink etc.

You could give them a bash. Hope it helps 😬

Too early 😕
It was way more stable with MXP turned of, but not stable enough. First crash with XMP disabled after a 3-4 hours without crash. With XMP it crashed every 10 - 15 minutes into a mission.

We have some suspicions that this is a mistake on our side. But it will take us some time to find the reason.

Well, maybe they should include "run DCS will all options turned on" in their supplier tests... 😉

Well, i think ED should evaluate this first 🤣

Same issue but with Mi8 as i only flew that so far, since this new patch now i crashed three times in a row after some time in GAW. I was almost never crashing before.

I did all the usual stuff, delete fxo, metashaders and reset the shaders in AMD control panel, but something is very wrong for me with this patch on open beta, i need to go back to stable.

Thank you, gents.

@HunterICXYou're having a bunch of E_OUTOFMEMORY erros before your crashes. You may want to check your RAM. Try a MemTest to see if your RAM is OK. Then try disabling XMP and see if the game keeps crashing.

@ComoxIt seems your game was unable to find the graphcis card while it was tying to compile a shader. You have quite a few mods loaded. Maybe try disabling them and see if the issue continues.

@Flappie Already ran a Windows Memtest and Memtest86 ran a few passes, came up empty in that area.

Also ran a repair, cleared shaders from DCS, DirectX and AMD. Also updated my GPU drivers as there happen to be one pending for me to install. I'll try other modules and other maps as well as this happened on a busy day on Syria at War, the game was already taking 31,6GB of RAM before I even got into the Tomcat. If it still crashes then I'll try disabling the XMP , this problem is something I haven't experienced before the latest OB update and I had never had issues with have the XMP profile enabled.

31,6 GB RAM, eh? Since you "only" have 32 GB of RAM (so do I), you should ensure your pagefile goes beyond 4 GB.

2021-10-31 11:54:20.905 INFO APP: CPU cores: 8, threads: 16, System RAM: 32698 MB, Pagefile: 4864 MB

You can manually set it this way:

  • initial size : 32768 (32 GB)
  • max size : 32768 (32 GB)

Before you do this, ensure you have enough free space in the pagefile hosting drive.
