Rhino4 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Just wondering why this game hasn't been publicized better. Gamespot.com has absolutely no information on this game besides an estimated "tba 2008" release date...No videos, no previews, and their forum has only three topics in it from people who obviously have no idea what this game is about...I'm not criticizing, but aren't you overlooking a few things in your effort to get information on this game out? I've downloaded the russian version, and I must say that based on my initial impressions, I think this game deserves much more attention than it's getting....
mc_smile Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Hardcore simulators always were on the other side. They are not oriented on mass auditory so PR is not that great as for some FPS or RPG. BS is not that beautiful and dynamic as for e.g. HAWX and nobody would spend big amount of money in advertising it. BS has got something else to be famous for and we regard it for this. Not for graphic or immediate action but for outstanding level of simulation It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice © Scooter Intel Core i7 8700K, Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5, 32Gb DDR4 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 3200MHz, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080Ti Extreme, VKB Gunfighter MkII + TM HOTAS Warthog + TM MFD Panels, TrackIR5
DTWD Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Don't forget it's not technically out in the west yet. Not for several months, and you only really see previews and the like...well about now actually. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Advertising and marketing will commence worldwide in magazines and websites in January 2009 to prepare for the release of the DVD boxed version. Apart from a few exceptions (PC Pilot and SimHQ), we do not like releasing code for review until it is final. Jim Business Development TFC/ED Having problems? Vekkinho Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) I saw a DCS advertisment few days ago at www.simw.com, I bought couple of LOFC CDs from SimWare so they sent an e-mail informing there's a DCS:BS soon to be released! Available from Jan 30th, 2009. In fact, check it out yourself: http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_product_details&pid=1526 Edited November 23, 2008 by Vekkinho [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Not for graphic or immediate action but for outstanding level of simulation This is what for is adverstiment. It can do really brilliant product which is better than in real. IMO it was same with Crysis - rather good game but nothing special for me. If BS is in niche market (rather it is) so why don't do big advertisements to promotion product? IMO marketing failed. I don't cryticize but I agree with Rhino well. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... ED Team JimMack Posted November 23, 2008 ED Team Posted November 23, 2008 By the way - do a search on YouTube "DCS Black Shark" - guerilla marketing campaign has already started. Having problems? Tango Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 People like ourselves will market it for them when we post screenshots and people go "WOW!". Those who would really be into DCS:BS and appreciate its modelling already know about it I think. I originally found out about it via SimHQ. Best regards, Tango.
leafer Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Put a screenshot of DCS next to any other PC game out this year and you'll see how lacking BS engine is. The most realistic sim ever made does not mean jack poo to the rest of the gaming population. In order to get their attention, BS needs to have graphics that will turn any high end pc into a smokin' crater. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
