Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue dropping CBUs in the 16.

My loadout is 4 IR Mavs and 6 CBU-97s.  If I fire off all the mavs first and then switch to bombs, I am unable to drop them while in CCIP.  They just don't leave the racks.  CCRP seems to work okay.  If I select bombs before Mavericks, I'm able to drop them just fine.

Any ideas.  Someone elsewhere hinted it may be a bug, but I'm not so sure.  Tried a search here, but came up empty.

Thanks.

Have you hold the pickle button until the release bar reached the flight path marker?

The CCIP in the F16 is a mixture of CCIP (designate the target with the pickle circle) and CCRP wait till the bar comes down when your approch is too flat.

When you finally manage to release them, don't be surprised when you miss your target. CCIP and CCRP are currently broken for CBU87 and 97.

That's what happens when the actual CCIP is off the bottom of the HUD.  The pipper sits on the bottom edge, and it records the target point on the ground when you first press pickle. It doesn't release the weapons until you actually fly to the correct state (range, altitude, speed, flight path angle) that puts the bombs on target.

Well, jojojung, your idea seems to have worked.

Kind of a weird hybrid of CCIP and CCRP.

Nice to hear! Thats a huge advantage from the Viper, because you are able to drop bombs in CCIP If they are below the hud. So you dont always have to do dive bombing with a high approch angle.

Appreciate the help guys.  Figured it was procedural.

At first I thought I might have to switch off the Mavs after firing them, but that didn't work.
