Zorrin Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 May I suggest you read up on a helicopter's basic principles of flight? That might help you a little better in understanding how it works.... Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Inseckt Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 My advise would be to read some of the reasent threads on this forum, the user FAQ and the manual... My guess would be that you are experiencing the advanced flight model, and simply need some practise, should it however be a actual problem, it's kind'a hard to tell from the info you give... >Try turning on the game mode, and see if you are able to fly then.... Bucic Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 FIRST check your controllers settings - if they are configured/calibrated right. If there is a test tool in options, go there. If no press ctrl+enter (?) during game. It will show your controllers inputs in graphical way. If your cyclic is assigned as your "power", you'll see it right away. THEN principles of flight, user FAQ, manual... Also if you provide a track file (recording) someone could tell you ALL in minutes. Right know you'll have an army of people guessing... Honest989 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Check FAQ. There's a key one in there under the heading of 'this helicopter is crazy, how do you control it'. Might help you out

r-unit Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 practice just going a few feet off the ground to start. Map your Trim button, and trim reset button to your joystick. Once you get some forward speed going, and your level, hit the trim button and let go of the stick... the Shark will adjust itself and become steady. If you get messed up, hit Trim reset. TRIM IS GOD
kaos.dll Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Check your controls. I use a X52pro and I cannot control the Shark with the default axis setting.... After I set the axis as it should be... Flying goes much easier ;) If you cannot handle it read some books about choppers - the way they fly (if you can call it "flying" ;)) is much different than planes... :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Joy Z I believe. I have mine currently set to it and it imput jumps (I twist the stick ever so slightly and it applies full rudder. Never gives me a range of motion between 0% and 100%) Rudder pedals aren't an option as I'm out of USB ports with Tracker IR, Mouse, Joystick and keyboard. :(
muamshai Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 ^You can always buy a USB hub (active USB hub or you will have a lot of problems) This space is available for your advertisement
kaos.dll Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I'm using the rudders and I donnot wanna miss 'em! And if you can buy the rudder paddels you should be able to buy a USB-Card for 15$, too ... ;) I use a lot of USB devices... TIR + TrackClip, Mouse, Keyboard, X52pro, Rudders, 2 printers, 1 Scanner, iPhone and even one free port for sticks etc. USB is specified for 128 devices so.... let's go connecting ... :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

nemises Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Be careful also , as sometimes the front wheel is rotated 90 degrees from parking, and when you add cyclic to begin a roll, the heli will start rotating left .Once you have started actually moving it will correct itself, and you just need to add a bit of pedal and right cyclic to straighten it up..as per the manual, you can also add some collective and pull back on the collective to free it up if necessary, though this can be dangerous (tail intercepting ground). Also, dont forget to trim the aircraft as soon as you leave the ground! and release trim when you land (trimmed forces on the cyclic could tip the aircraft over, or overpower the wheel brakes when on the ground). such a great sim..the attention to detail is crazy
