Slippa Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 I saw this the day it was posted but don’t see the pic again now. Weird goings on with the pics for some reason. Reminded of the project as the Dambusters is on the telly . Any excuse. Wondered how this is going, any movement or plans for whatnot? What’s next on the list? I’m gagging to see this, I found a dam last night too with Lancaster written all over it. ED need to make it possible for both the blast and resulting floods though . Sad news from Coningsby yesterday, very sad indoors, missus quite upset when she told me. Spitfire wrecked, pilot killed, apparently engine failure on TO but early to say properly. Gutted for everyone. 4
Slippa Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 https://shop.iwm.org.uk/p/29001/Roundel-Bamboo-Socks-One-Size-(Battle-of-Britain) I tried to buy a pair of these with a bag from their tent. Card only I was told. I’m not allowed to cash legal tender apparently so I walked away feeling like a long-gone Dougy Bader must have, trying to get equipment. I mean, we’re both ‘complaining from Duxford’ so practically in the same situation . I wandered along a few pitches to the Blenheim tent and asked if they’d accept cash. Of course he readily accepted so I dropped the sock money into his tin to ‘help keep the Blenheim flying’, told him the story and felt much better about the predicament. I got collared on my way out though and succumbed (paying cash) in the shop to a couple of pairs of very eye-catching ‘flying socks’. Some for the Mossie and in readiness, with this in mind, a pair for the Lanc . Mrs Slippa mercilessly mocked me when I showed her so I do hope the project’s going well, I’ve invested heavily in simulation footwear over here . 6
Alicatt Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Working at Waddington a few years ago - maybe 20ish - having a break from the duties and wandering down the flight line came across a stall for the the Belgian Virtual Tigers as I knew of them from Frugal's days I bought a few of their items including a BVT T-shirt, the lady on the stall was the mother of one of the young lads and she forced note pads and sticky notes into my hands, those I used up until fairly recently and I still have the BVT T-shirt though it has faded quite a bit now. I never knew back then that I would end up in Belgium living under the flight path of the KB airbase 2 Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron

seabat Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Wonder if Scoobyon hit the 200 mb attachment limit for the forums. (At least that is a restriction I have). I hit that limit once and had to delete old attachments to free up space. Was not paying attention to file sizes of pictures and was loading 3 MB png pictures. Have since changed to converting pics to jpg and trying to keep file sizes around 500 kb. seabat 2
Slippa Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Good idea Seabat. To post any more pics I had to go and delete a load of old stuff too. Not sure what’s the best way around it as we’ll end up filling our quota somehow however we do it? Maybe linking to an image host but it’s a bit iffy, I dunno? There’s only one thing for it. Release the Lancaster . - Maybe we’ll need a cheeky update/salivate video? Just to tide us over. We’re all rooting for ya team, let’s have a look how Brians landings are getting on. 13 hours ago, Alicatt said: Edit: Slippa's socks are still there though Well that’s the main thing eh? 4

Slippa Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Silver seems to be saying he doesn’t post his data on Lancs. Followed by him then posting his data. I don’t think Silver will be getting a call from S.O.E. or dropped in to work with the resistance but he could be useful as a double-bluff double agent to confuse the enemy? - Just kiddin Silver . Nice shots Scoobs . I did think maybe a few of us could copy four or five pics from early in the thread and post them but it’s not really the answer to the pic limit problem. Maybe try a free image hosting site then you could link your shots here? Unless BigNewy or NineLine can sort something out? Especially for Modders or something? You wanna be able to show how it’s going and we all wanna see it. Nothing like a few ‘nipple glimpse’ shots of the Lancs progress to warm the cockles. Looks like you’ve got us a good few skins done already. Place must reek of digital paint but it’s better than counting all those rivets again eh? Cheers for the pics. Keep on . 3

Ive yet to do the wings or the final section of the fuselage rivets, not looking forwards to that one nullThe wing rivets are there but I'm not happy with them and I think I used the incorrect spacing for them so it will need refining 6 Minor Lancaster Fanboy

Slippa Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 ^ That’d make sense of course. Good luck with the riveting, there’s quite a few of the buggers . 1
