Hi,

I'm making a mission with 4 groups of Viggens + 2 of F-18s + 1 of F-14s + 1 E-2.

The 4 groups of viggens are actually two pairs (with a flt ldr and a wingman), each sharing the same frequency.

I am counting on the FR22 group selector. All groups have their number in the radio except one Viggen group.

Is there a way to manually configure the groups in the FR22?

Thanks

You can only configure them in the mission editor:

Beware:

When E, F or G is selected with FR24 selector, FR22 is unavailable (no T/R).

When mission starts, H default frequency is 123 AM. It's a bug. You have to switc the FR24 selector back and forth to obtain set frequency.

And of course, there is the FR22 " - " position, which lets the pilot configure his own frequency.

Why "avoid"? you can easily access E, F and G from the FR-22 as well

Though I'm thinking the bugreport is about the group numbers (in yellow on my screenshot), not the presets that @Flappie is talking about.

How?

if you set the base selector (righthand knob) to "ALLM" you can use the "A/G", "C/F" and "D/E" buttons to access G, F and E respectively.

OK, I see what you meant: E, F and G can be used with FR22 radio using ALLM position. I didn't know about it at all.

My point was: changing the FR24 selector from NORM+GUARD to E, F or G position disables FR22, as seen in the SRS overlay (FR22 -> 0.0 AM), thus preventing the simultaneous use of the two radios.

What I meant is there are six groups in the mission but only five in the Groups section for the FR22. E.g.  in the following screenshot, Colt 1 1 for 299.50 AM is missing.

Is there a way to manually configure them in the mission editor or the miz file?

This is how they will look after the patch, and you will be able to change all of them in the ME. 🙂

So they'll be manually configured instead of automatically now (soon™)?

Not sure what you mean? They will be presets, means automatically available, unless you change them manually. Like say the presets in the hornet.

This aligns the first 40 Group channels with the 40 default channels for other aircraft such as the Hornet and Viper, rather than automatically generating them based on other flights in the mission when you spawn (I think that's what you meant by "automatically").

It somewhat elevates the Group selector in importance, since it was not much use before.  Now in missions where the designer didn't put useful frequencies in the Special and EFGH channels, you would just use the Group channels primarily.

They are all configurable in the Mission Editor, but not "manually" within the aircraft.

@IronMike I assume the question was: "Will it keep displaying other flights frequencies by default like it does today?" - e.g. "4-1 prBev E2-C Focus 315.5 AM"

No, those need to be briefed in the briefing.
