Hi guys,

I would like to have your help about shimmering : I have a Reverb G2 (was the same with G1) and I don't achieve to remove this shimmering in DCS.

I tried PD 2 in DCS, SS100% (I fly in 50% to have native G2 resolution), reshade, shaders, everything on HIGH/Ultra but it's the same.

Only MSAA*4 helps a little bit. But I fly MSAAx2 as many of you because of framerate loss.

On this Dubaï mission you can see palm tree isle shimmering a lot in front of us, planes too, and shors on right too.

On this caucasus mission you can see clouds ugly shimmering, and the river bottom left it's the same.

Do my HMD (or my eyes) have a problem ? or it's the same for you ?

Thanks a lot 🙂

msaa is the only way i have of reducing it, but it doesnt eliminate it, turning off sharpening in reshade helps a great deal...

I have been flying exclusively in VR for about 3 years now , despite the fact that everything outside the cockpit looks like crap under every circumstance . And yes , the shimmering is a major culprit .

I'm hoping the upcoming engine changes will allow addressing this and other graphics issues outside the cockpit .

At 24:00 mark, Spudknocker mentions Antialiasing Transparency in the nvidia control panel. And how he turned it off, as it produced a lot of shimmers for him, specially on fences at airfields etc. This is on a monitor, so not sure it applies in VR as well. But worth a try maybe.

Try MSSA 2X and pixel rendering 2900x2900 per screen. I don’t have much shimmering at all using your escort mission and I’m using the VP2 which has similar resolution to the G2. The key is to use antialiasing + high enough rendering resolution. I don’t use any mod except Reshade VR.
