X52 Pro problem

It can only be down to each machine and software, my pro is working fine. But it wouldnt be Saitek if it worked right all the time for everyone...lol.. Its a pity as they have alot of decent products that are plagued by software issues..

Yes it does the same thing here. Your doing it without a profile open in the editor. You must have the profile you want to test loaded in the editor and when you use the test function it temporarily overrides anything that may be loaded on your stick.

can you check my process below please to see we are talking about the same thing and i am doing it right?

 

I right click on joystick icon and open profile editor.

I click on file box and load a profile [tried downloaded ones and one of mine.

I load the profile to the joystick and the icon has a green box around it

I push the test profile button and box opens but joystick key presses dont produce any text in the box but pushing keyboard or mouse buttons does produce text.

 

can you see from that description what I might be doing wrong?

You should just leave the file renamed and then work on troubleshooting what the other causes are for you to crash. If it is it renamed or deleted it cannot cause the game to crash because it isn't loaded. It sounds to me as if you may have multiple problems. Try to be more specific on what the actual crashes are after removing the file and maybee we can figure out what your other problem is.

Yes, you must open the profile in the profile editor, the test only works on a profile you are working on in the profile editor, it ignores what is loaded in the stick.

 

Right click the joystick icon in the corner of your taskbar and pick profile editor, open the profile you want to test and then press the little scope icon in the upper right corner of the editor. Test away.

Beta or not?

 

I was wondering if I should install the Saytek beta drivers or the ones before the beta? Whats everyone using/ working under XP? I should have all my gear by next week (joystick,pedals,andtrackIR). Im trying to get smart on the installation of software so I can get up and running once i receive the stuff out here. Does anyone know where I can find a good Profile for the X 52 pro with the use of TrackIR and CH pedals? I have DL'd the one from lockon files but is for non trackIR.Is there anyone out there willing to share their profile with me?thanks Sarge

Your hint about the "Saitek Rulez" thing clued me in to a bug with the DIrectOutputService.exe

 

The developers are using that service to send a message to the MFD but sometimes the service quits working and must be restarted for it to work properly. This same thing happened to many users with the plugin for FSX.

 

The fix is:

1) Start task manager(CTRL+ALT+DEL), go to the services tab then find SaiDOutput service,right click it,stop it, then right click it again and restart it.

 

2) Now when you go into the game you will get the SAITEK RULEZ message and you roll the left black wheel on the bottom of the throttle a click up or down ( per the previous post)

You have to restart the service whenever you get the blank MFD. It was a bug in the Directoutput development kit.

I have an other solution. This solution do not provoque the hard crash of "SaiDOutput service".

 

You have just tout delete the file "x52pro_device.lua" in a folder ".\Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit".

This file can modify the configuration for X52Pro.

I've noticed interesting issue on my x52 without any profile loaded. Some keys like clutch (wich is disabled and works as a button) or mouse fire key can not be set directly in BS by simply pressing it in "Add Assignment Panel" in BS controls option page - you must choose it manualy by its number (i.e. JOY BTN30 for Clutch - number can be found in x52 test page in control panel). But if you open x52 test in control panel and leave the window open then the key will appear by just pressing it. Same thing happens in game - leave the x52 test window open and you won't get missing function anymore.

 

Minus is this that advanced commands stop working (if you plan to use some buttons assign in Saitek profiler as macro). That's why I try to avoid assinging function in profiler and I'm always playing with test window open). Something is terribly wrong with "Saitek vs BS"...

Ok, I'm totally confused. Last time I played Blackshark (a couple of months ago), my Saitek X52 worked fine (I could assign keys etc from within the sim), and now it doesn't.

 

I'm a simple man, all I want is to bind the collective throttle to the throttle (the Z axis). Instead it is bound per default to the 'slider' which is less precise. In Blackshark there is no 'axis tune', it is greyed out. I'm running Vista 32, btw.

 

Can anyone give me any advice?

There is an axis dropdown at the very top of the list. Also make sure you are setting up the controls for the mode in which you are playing (ie game mode / realistic)

Thanks for answering this one, I was having the same exact problem. It's pretty anti-intuitive not to expect ALL actual re-mappable options to be included in the ALL filter. Took me several hours of searching around to sort this one out -_- While we're at it, does anyone know how to interpret all the various funny axis/slider (e.g. JOY_FX, JOY_RX...) names with respect to the X52 Pro? I'm wondering if there's a way to map my hat switch to Absolute SHKVAL horizontal/vertical slews. Also, is there any way to adjust x/y/z (pitch/roll/yaw) trims individually via any of the knobs on this thing? The lone trim button is a bit of an odd concept to me... I think I'd have an easier time trimming each axis.

I have a X-52 pro under Windows XP 32 SP3..

 

Now why, or how can i configure my shitek??

 

If i dont have any profile, and dont do any keymapping, than my joy work (but cant use/configure all button!!.)

 

Now if i programming any button (espec. rotary 1, and 2), than i s@k!

 

I save the profiler, the joy icon down left go to green.

I launch the game, and i move the rotary's, and yes, there is a working keybinding's.

BUT, here comes the "gift"... The "pinkle" button (by default button 6) wont work! BS didn't see it, and if i exit from the game, and see the profiler, the pinkle button going to 'shift'.. WHY??!

 

F@k, if i do profile to BS, i dont have button 6, if i let the profiler clear, i dont have rotary's!

 

I only need that the two rotary button get bands, and than i can setup 2-2 keyboard option.

And i need back my button 6, or pinkle.. wont use as shift!

 

And not just button 6, or useable rotary's!:huh:

 

I hope somebody looking this forum from saitek!

 

ps:and of course, i realy wont do any hoskus-pokus, deleting, or editing files.. only use my joy, and fly with BS!(if available..)

Well, i installed new beta from Saitek then I disabled the "clutch" button and now it works fine. Because the Controller failures when I hitted this button. :)

I can use the complete Saitek Software and all switchabele Profiles (3) of the Stick including all buttons and axis mouse etc.. Works fine here. Of course Pinkie works like a shift button but thats the way it is meant to be.

Yeah that tricks works too but you can´t use the modis of the Joystick why not use the SST Software the way I mentioned ? Works fine with all functions.
