orl_cz Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 The AI will stop attacking if it removes one of my wings with undercarriage or tail when it hits me. And they don't respond to my attacks either, both air and ground units stop attacking. With other damage, even fatal damage, they still attack. enemy1.trk enemy2.trk 1 my PC: intel core i5-11600K, Radeon RX580 8GB, DDR4 32GB 3200MHz, SSD Sata-III for DCS My starting sim site
Doc3908 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 The AI often stops attacking you when it thinks it's caused enough damage. This is in every module - the F-5, the F-18, the JF-17, etc. And, yes, you can then chase them and destroy them and they keep on flying straight and level. 1
Dangerzone Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I have seen instances in the past where DCS considers you 'dead' even though you're still capable of flying, and launching missiles. Not sure if it's a bug or not. I haven't watched the track files attached - but wonder whether or not you're considered dead in this event.

I understand that they stop attacking after a certain amount of damage, but here it's set up weirdly, they damage me so much that I can't stay in the air anymore and they keep attacking me. But if they only blow off one wing, I'm still quite combat capable and dangerous. It would probably be better to set a rule to return fire if I'm still attacking. Hotdognz Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 This bug is still currently active, I was ignored by the AI once I lost parts of my KA-50 on a MP server last night and was able to carry on killing close range Sams and Shilkas
Flappie Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 The issue is being worked on. All aircraft are affected more or less: from a certain amount of damage, enemy AI units consider their target is out of combat, when it's not always true, especially when said target is player-controlled. This is going to change, but some aircraft will need additional work and the Black Shark is among them. A little bit more patience please. 1 ---
