sobek Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Why not use a third party joystick mapping tool? Because i could not get the ones i tried to work. I'm open to suggestions though :) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
ACUTech Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Indeed, the Sidewinder software doesn't work under Vista... =ACU=Tech TECH Systemes Computer 1 Computer 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bisch Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 (edited) The first things I can think of: Total Game Control http://www.digitaltransforms.com/index.html Pinnacle Game Proifler http://www.pinnaclegameprofiler.com/ Perhaps even Joy2Key? Probably some more show up in 2, 3 well done google searches for words like joystick emulation, joystick tool etc... I don't know if those tools suit your needs and I only used joy2key myself in another context but perhaps these links contain something usefull for you... maybe just because they lead you to other tools. Update: Another Joy Tool I once used (for my PS2 Controller as Keyboardemulation) Xpadder http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Xpadder.shtml Edited February 16, 2009 by Atelophobia Win 10 Pro | Trustmaster Warthog | MFG Rudders | VivePro Wireless Gear Lens modded | 1080ti OC Asus | 32 GB DD4 RAM | i7 9700 | Razer Chroma Orbweaver Keypad | Corsair KB | Derek Switchbox | USB Keypad | Logitech 502 | Jetseat with SimShaker Software | TrackIR5 | Autotkey | Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs | Monstertech Mounts | Saitek Throttle Quadrant
eV1Te Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 After playing the game 20h+ I finally realized (with the help of previous posts) that holding ",+." on the keyboard moves the shkval diagonally.. So after binding the POV diagonal directions to the equivalent keyboard commands, I finally got diagonal slew to work! (But still, the slew rate is much much slower than if one uses an axis instead, of course there is a trade off between speed and accuracy, but at least let the player choose that for them selves what speed etc. the "digital button" slew rate should have)
Bushmanni Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I managed to make the axis-control for Shkval to work quite nicely after I noticed that shkval has a really big built in deadzone witch keeps messing the responsiveness. I created a custom response curve in axis tuner which offsets the deadzone and after that I was able to control the camera just as easily as with digital commands but with the additional benefits of analog control and speed. Here are my curve settings: 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 22 100 It's not yet perfect but will get you started. Hope this helps. I wish ED would remove the deadzone from Shkval axis controls. Boberro Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I wonder why ED has removed Shkval as mouse control as it is in LO.... Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Frederf Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 2. Remove the acceleration that increases the speed of the slew the longer you hold the button. (Full speed directly is preferred, and if you want to go slower there is a button for that in the cockpit) There is no such button. I think there is a LUA edit that controls the acceleration value. You could also assign a modifier + a mouse axis to the shkval absolute axes. No you can't. Only joystick axes can be assigned to Shkval absolute and the mouse isn't considered a joystick axes set.
