johndw52gmail.com Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 As an older man I dont have much time to experiment with various aircraft modules. It looks like the F18 is near 100% completion. Is this correct. What about the F14 or Harrier. Also their corresponding campaigns. I welcom e all opinions. Thanks to all who generously contribute their thoughts to someone like me. Johndw52
Hulkbust44 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 No, that would be incorrect. There is a lot in the jet, but almost every system is missing a good chunk of it's significant functions. If every system that has already been worked on was full and correct, I'd say the aircraft would be 85% complete compared to real life based on available documentation. To those out of the loop, the module looks and feels decently close to completion. This is partially because it is already the most capable DCS module by far. People can find bugs, but very few can identify the incorrect implementations. Just throwing that out there first. Until you know what's missing the incompleteness is not apparent and will not hinder your enjoyment in anyway. There are things that are more difficult than they should be, but to you that's just how it's done in DCS.I love flying this module, I have thousands and thousands of hours of virtual time logged. Incredibly enjoyable and to be honest by the time you are proficient in the aircraft most issues would be fixed. There's a ton to learn, and it's still a fantastic module. 12
Swift. Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Yeah hornet is a great example of ignorance is bliss. And I agree, the 40% (or whatever value it is) of completion we have is the best 40% in DCS. 3 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Ahmed Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 ^^^^ what they said. First of all we are aiming for 40%-ish of the real due to what is available publicly. And from what the DCS Hornet could ever be, there are still plenty of partially implemented features and dozens of open bug reports. Hoping to see some more dev time allocated to all that in future updates. I don't know how long until the module is commercially tagged as "complete", but it is still far from a 100% completion state.
Foka Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 The most complete module is A-10C II. And by complete I do not mean, that it has all features that it should, but it has most and devs practically topped working on it, updates are once or twice in a year, and they still didn't deliver some promised content. Rest of the modules are more or less still worked on.
