Underdog Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Ok so have watched videos & I have used the practice mission but I am still not sure exactly how to pull this off. I can get to the PP mission page and I start with PP1 and I enter my first set of cords and elevation. Then I go to PP2 and I enter my 2nd set of cords and elevation. I then go back to PP1 hit step and I enter my 3rd set of cords and elevation. I go to PP2 and I enter my 4th set of cords and elevation. So my question is how do I pickle all these? Do I just hit the pickle button 4 times? Am I suppose to pickle then go to PP2 pickle, go back to PP1 hit step and pickle then back to PP2 and pickle? Also is there a way to pickle all 4 at once? In the mission I am just hitting the pickle button 4 times but I can only hit 2 targets. Any advise is welcome! /Salute

Frederf Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 You don't. Every PPx is its own mission. If you want N bombs to come off with one button press then you need N stations currently configured. Dual racks can't be addressed individually in this version of the F-18. E.g. 4 bombs on 2 racks has a maximum mission size of two.
Hulkbust44 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Should be able to select the stations via QTY. If dual racks, this will be one per station. So max simultaneous release of 4 GBU-38s. For PP, use JUST PP1 for each bomb. Unlike TOO you aren't programming for the rack as a whole. That way each bomb has it's own target. The point of PP1-6 is that you would have multiple targets that you could flex to as alternatives for whatever reason. Remember, IRL the pilot just needs to load the data from MUMI...
maxTRX Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 TOO rules!... for me at least. Whether I have 8 GPS weapons to ger rid of in one pass (using markpoints) or 4, using straight in ingress, the weapons usually arrive almost simultaneously. 8 tanks didn't even have time to reposition : https://youtu.be/0ZIHddwlbKo
Underdog Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) Still doing this JDAM practice mission over and over and over to master PP mode (I have TOO on lockdown) After programing all my cords & elevation for all four JDAMS this is how I pickle them: Starting on PP1 = Pickle then pickle (two off!) then I go to PP2 and Pickle (3 off!) then I go back to PP1 hit step, go back to PP2 then pickle (4 off!) I hit all four targets but man is this the correct way of doing this? Edited January 31, 2022 by Underdog

I just tried PP mode (dual JSOWs on sta7 and sta3) There's something seriously weird with the way the PP1 and PP2 acted when launched single picle or QTY. I have to test some more but for sure... something is not right.
maxTRX Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 OK, I had a chance to see what was going on in QTY release. I had 2 JSOWs on STA3 and 2 on STA7. 2 progs used for each station. During the first pickle, PP1 was boxed when 1 missile launched from each station. I boxed PP2 and when I pickled, 1 missile launched in PP2 then the 'box' jumped to PP1. As a result, 2 of the JSOWs hit the same target. Manual release, one at a time worked, as long as I watched the PP 'box'. It did jump before #4 missile was to be released. I boxed it back to PP2 and pickled. All 4 targets were hit.
Tholozor Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Yep, each station must have its PP mission switched manually.
