Hi,

I have quotions towards the AIM-7 F and AIM-7M for example in the Hornet why I am getting the shoot warning only when I am at 20 nm or less to the enemy plane, officially this weapons are having a range of 35 nm Miles and then why is that air to air missile generally so bad, I never could engage with this weapon a Flanker with R73ER or R73 and R27, are this weapons just a little bit to good than in IRL because that would mean in the 80s before the Ammram was available, the western fighters like FA18 or F15 could easily be shut down by an Russian Flanker.

There's more to aerial combat than just weapons range.

During the Cold War, the F-16s only had AIM-9, when its counterpart - the 9-12 MiG-29, has R-27R.

Unless you have hard evidence that the AIM-7 is underperforming compared to its real counterpart, there isn't an issue.

Ok when will it be fixed at made more accurate like now the Phoenix or the Aim-120s, I would they this it definitely required when HT Phantom will be released 😀

It's already happened AFAIK. It was one of, or maybe the first missile to receive the new upgrade, it certainly was the first to receive an upgraded autopilot and flight dynamics to my knowledge.

I don't think its seeker has been updated to AIM-120 standards of fidelity (though this still has some distance to go), but for the Sparrow, this shouldn't have much of an effect on kinematics.

Note that numbers found on for instance, wikipedia, will give you maximum ranges in optimum conditions (i.e high-altitude, supersonic launch, against a supersonic hot-aspect, non-manoeuvring target at high altitude).

As for the Phantom, it will most likely be AIM-7E-2/E-3 at the latest AFAIK, maybe the AIM-7F but definitely not the AIM-7M or AIM-7M (H-build), the latter missile uses an inverse monopulse seeker which is physically incompatible with the F-4E's conical scanning RADAR.
