some1 Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 (edited) There are problems when attacking a target using LSS. 1. It is not possible to set SPI from LSS mode. TMS forward does not work and SPI remains where it was when LSS mode was activated. Not sure if that's correct or not, but it's possible to designate the target from LST in the A-10 or the Hornet. 2. If you exit LSS and switch to PTRK, the SPI still remains in the old position. That is clearly wrong. 3. Going TMS aft in such situation will snap TGP to old SPI position, loosing the target from sight. Currently the only method to make it work is to exit LSS mode, move TDC a bit, which will update SPI to the target's position, and then proceed with the attack. Attached short example track. 1. Target spotted in LSS, but SPI is in a different place. 2. Switched from LSS to Point track, but SPI still in the wrong place 3. Wiggled TDC a little, finally SPI has synced to target location. lss.trk Edited February 5, 2022 by some1 1 Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Frederf Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 What's worked for me is just pressing uncage to turn off LSS/LST and it falls back into area track proving SPI and allowing normal use. You raise a good question is if TGP provides a location for SPI purposes while LST is active. I can't see why not as DTS+TGP can generate a location just the same as area track while LSTing. LSS though is probably just frozen SPI since during LSS the image is a frozen screenshot and the TGP head is going wild looking for a spot. 1
some1 Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 Even if you uncage to turn off LSS/LST, targeting pod and SPI are still not in sync, unless you move TDC. That doesn't seem right. 1 Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Sacarino111 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hi. Haven't tried since last updates (2) but I can't recall it not working ok. To my remembering, it was no diference between TMSup First or after the UNCAGE press, but te TGP stayed on target. Maybe you have to CZ before geting the new target. In the F-16 CZ is the trick. TEOMOOSE Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Currently there's is an issue with the tgp not able to update SPI, as mentioned above. For example on moving targets. While tpg track moving target, the SPI doesn't update on the HUD and require the pilot for manual input. This is wrong. There's a similar bug report using mavericks.
