AH-64D Content?

Hi All,

So I potentially may pre-order the Apache, the only thing that I have a slight concern with is the fact that how much content there will be available to us when it first releases? Will there be any missions or are we going to have to be fully reliant on the user mission files on the DCS website? Will there be a few user made files on release too?

With all the wizzards doing their DCE magic (check out the "missions" subforum), there will be plenty to do directly after EA release. Not to mention all the MP community that will jump on adding the Apache to their servers.

 

Apart from that, if you plan on purchasing the Apache eventually (e.g. when DLC campaigns become available), you might as well purchase it now with a big discount and give it a go. You can always ignore it if it turns out to not yet be up to your standards/wishes (this is what I do with the Viper. I never regretted pre-purchasing the Viper, it's not yet at the point of my likings, but I know it eventually will be)

I more or less bought the Apache for the 30% discount. It's not gonna go to 50% for a while and the discount won't be back for quite some time, either, so no reason to wait. It's a big module which will likely have a long EA period, during which things generally stay at 30%.

That's a valid point. I too have purchased the viper, and sort of shelved it waiting for campaigns (which I know is coming soon) yet I still enjoy flying it when I can etc!

There is a great Mission Generator for Helicopters, called "Rotor-Ops" (Thread here in the forum). I'm pretty sure, they will add the Apache to the playable units pretty fast.

Or you just modify the missions for the 64.

I would really recommend to dive into the mission editor, too. It's quite easy to set up simple missions for yourself.

Other than that, the community made content for DCS is plenty and they will jump on the 64 very soon!

I'm hoping that the guys making DCS Liberation do a specific campaign in the Syria map based around Israeli Apaches. And/or another making use of the new Eastern areas I guess we'll see tomorrow as well, in a campaign versus IS operating out of that 'concrete factory'.

Either way, there will be plenty of content.
