Well, just flew a modified version of the Harrier's River crossing mission completely from the front seat, with the Turtle Beach Recon control, driven by the vJoy / Joystick Gremlin combination (right trigger set for the two stages and the left only for the second) ... Worked like a charm!

No issues whatsoever running those 2 software so very little motivation to try to figure out any of the antimicros....

Does it allow you to press both trigger at the same time, or do they cancel each other out?

I intend to share both TMWH scheme picture and script (and input lua if desired) plus TEDAC picture and reWASD profile. I bought the base software plus one $7 upgrade for a needed feature. The whole product comes in cost units as you add feature packages which I'm sure you can add as needed. Minimum cost is two units and maximum six with all four upgrades. My profile needs three. I forget the name of the upgrade needed.

Yes, on the Turtle Beach Recon, each trigger is a separate axis, so you can map it independently

Thanks, I downloaded the demo to play with the vibration feedback but I'll wait for how you did the reWASD profile before buying anything. If you want to post here the rest of your setup, please feel free to do so. I created this thread to share how we setup our TEDACs... I've seen plenty of control mappings but the how to do it was lacking...

This is my old WIP picture. I'll make a better one in due time. Color coding is black unshifted, green LB shift, red RB shift. I just realized this moment that I can bind Xinput buttons as well as keyboard emulation so I have gone in and used all possible Xinput output instead of some keyboard macros. This will reduce the number of keyboard macro commands by 14 which is always a good thing.

Very nice... I see how reWASD could be useful to expand the number of buttons available with the long press, single, double and triple tap options...

Certainly. It can have five shift layers and lots of contexts for each button to the point that the human brain can't hope to remember it all. The goal is to put things in logical places so first guess is right.

Indeed, for the time being, I'm keeping every in the DCS controls mappings, directly to the Xbox controller, except for the triggers... As I learn (what controls I need) and as the FCR / other  features comes online, I'll migrate some of the mappings out... Most likely to reWASD.... I like the UI and functionality and the fact that it is supported software.

This matches my experience with a controller as well.

I got lucky in that the controller I purchased maps the triggers to separate axis, but I do think Joystick Gremln has options for "merging axis" and "splitting axis" which can probably overcome this anyway.

I am not needing vJoy for my setup as I have mapped the trigger functions on the controller to emulate a keyboard press in Joystick Gremlin, then I setup binds in DCS for those keys on the keyboard to do my lase and weapon triggers in game.  What are you using vJoy for in your configuration?

I also have the added paddles on the back of the controller, and was disappointed to find that they are not unique buttons that can be easily bound to additional functions in game. You can only program them in the controller itself to mimic other buttons on the controller. 😕

But then I had the revelation that you did that I could use the diagonal presses I wasn't using on the D-Pad to remap these through to DCS.  My first attempt at this was using UL diagonal for one function and UR diagonal for another function, but if I accidentally pressed both paddles on the back at the same time, this would present as an Up press from the DPad controller, which was mapped to something completely different.  I resolved this by using the UL for my left paddle, and DR for the right paddle, so if I press them at the same time, they cancel each other and there is no command sent.

(On a side note, the triggers being analog axis does come in handy when playing other games, like using the left trigger for the brake pedal, and right trigger for gas pedal in a racing game.)

Would you be able to tell me how you mapped the extra paddles to a diagonal press?  I have a Xbox Elite 2 controller which has 4 paddles.  When I try to configure these in Xbox accessories, I only see the 4 cardinal directions available to map to on the DPad.  In the Windows "game controllers", the DPad shows as an 8 way hat switch.  Just can't figure out how to map the paddles to those directions.

It is a "hardware/software" feature of my controller...

May I ask what controller you have? And on the software side, are you mapping this on Xbox Accessories? Is there a place you have to activate 8 way vs 4 way?

I did the mapping in the controller itself not in the PC with any software.

I have not used Xbox accessories much but it does not see the paddles in my controller...

Thank you! Guess I’ll wonder if I want to get one of those or not. I like your idea, but I have a PS5 controller with buttons in the trigger too. So maybe it’s not worth the cost.

It’s seeming to me Xbox may treat the hat as a 4 way hat and synthesize the diagonal. positions digitally. All I can see in the Windows software are the cardinal directions and I don’t think there’s a way to remap the extra paddle buttons on the Xbox Elite 2 from the controller itself.

Anytime and good luck! If you figure out how to map the paddles in your controller, post it ! I'm sure there are other in the same boat choppa!

Well... The configuration is getting there...  The biggest change I've made is to map the left thumb stick of the xbox controller to the George interface (using reWASD)... I flight SP and that allows me to control George while keeping my fingers on the triggers and the manual tracker and quick access to WAS and zoom... The cursor is mapped in the collective (stick and collective are mapped identically for PLT and CPG).

IDK if you still need this, but I hit this wall some nights ago and I think I've solved it: you can change the driver of your Xbox controller and solve the issue.

The only drawback is that the controller does not work anymore in the Oculus Dash, but that is a small price to pay IMHO to be able to use and remap the pad.

You have to change the driver from whatever it is to HID-compliant game controller, redo the calibration and voila, the thing works, has two separate axes for the trigger which you can successfully remap with joystick gremlin.

To change the driver, simply open "device manager", find your xbox controller, right click then Driver tab->Update Driver->Browse my computer->Pick from a list and select the driver as in the picture (yellow highlighter).

I have tested and have this working with a Xbox One controller, both wireless and wired, that came with the original Oculus CV1.

I also use reWASD and it is perfect for my needs.

Here is an example of how I have assigned 8 functions to my D-pad.
With this principle, I was able to assign all TEDAC controls to the entire gamepad + some OBS buttons as well as macros.

Thanks! For expanded functionality I went with shift keys (the two shoulder buttons) but I think I'll also implement advanced press hold / double tap logic on some (all?) Buttons via joystick gremlin, so I can have up to 5 functions per button. Remapped to a vJoy device instead of keyboard. For free.

nullThese are my current mappings. I'm using both bumpers as modifiers and have them mapped (on my controller) to the paddles. I am also using reWASD to deal with the triggers.
