Apache & FARP in Caucasus

Hello everyone! With the editor, I tried to build a simple flying mission with the Apache to do some landing training. To make the mission more challenging, I established a FARP equipped with a single helipad (really a small space for those who, like me, are beginners). After a nice flight in the middle of the Caucasus valleys I managed (not without difficulty!) To land on the helipad. At this point, I tried to ask to be refueled (I had half a tank) and, to do some weapons practice, I asked to have a weapon configuration. At each request, I received the confirmation "copy". After 10 minutes (!!!!) I still had no fuel or weapons. By activating the fast time advance I realized that I would not be fulfilled. So how do you activate refueling and rearming in a FARP ?! Thanks in advance who will be kind enough to answer.

You need to have support vehicles/structures near to the FARP to supply the services you require i.e. M1025 HMMWV (radio), Transport M939 (rearming) and M978 HEMTT tanker (fuel) for BLUFOR.

This is a roadside FARP example for the JF-17 using the "invisible FARP" but the Apache is similar

See page 313 of the DCS 2020 manual. It lists the units needed for Blue and Red.

The core manual for DCS, not for any specific module. Its inside your DCS install folder in a folder calls docs (or maybe doc, can't remember)

Now if only ED would change it so that the FARP uints are...ground units and can therefore be made into a template......

That way you wouldn't need to find and place each individual object!  Each time you want to make a FARP.

Unless I've missed something!!

You can make a Template with just the FARP support units, that way you just apply the template and then add the FARP platform

Thats great.  How do you group them?  I've made SAM templates and the like because they were ground units, not static....

Sorry, my mistake .. I had forgotten that the FARP units are actually Statics and not Ground Units

 

On my case, my FARPS are implemented as Static Templates, so I hadn't really faced the need to implement them as Group Templates.

Sorry if I return to the subject, but I do not understand why it's impossible to rearm the Apache both from a FARP (built as indicated) and from an airport (blue). Who knows what will I ever forget?!?!? I am attaching the trace of the very simple mission.

You can't rearm/refuel with the engines on, shutdown first and then do the rearm/refuel.

You may have the APU ON, remember to turn the master volume Up or you wont hear the crew responses (but they would do the tasks).
