Fro Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 If you look at the following forum post: It would appear that Ship Comms made their way onto the Tarawa for a short time before being removed, it is speculated this was at the request of ED. Since it seems the Forestall gets Ship Comms too, I don't see why we can't for the Tarawa. If that is not the case, please explain the blockers preventing this 5
Northstar98 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 +1 SC comms should be present on carriers so long as the SC is owned. Though not sure if the same procedures are used on V/STOL carriers. 4 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas. System: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070S FE, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV. Fro Posted April 28, 2022 Author Posted April 28, 2022 I agree completely, and thats a good point to tie it to the SC module. No doubt would need some rework for V/STOL but anything is better than pretending to be an airfield 5
Tarres Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 (edited) By mistake I called the Tarawa instead of the SC in a Hornet and the Tarawa gives me a full Case I comms. It´s reported to Razbam. Edited April 28, 2022 by Tarres 1

IIRC they're similar, but differen't. I don't recall a CASE I marshal in the LHA NATOPS but I'll have to check. I can't find any USMC equivalent of the CNATRA manuals to fill in the gaps. CASE III seems about the same up until ball call, but I can't find much documentation on how comms go from that point on. Edited April 29, 2022 by Nealius 1

Now I understand it must have been because of the SC steaming closeby. I had contacted the Tarawa via radio, but didn't see any special comms.
