RED Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) In the video you can see that mirrors cause black screen and water does not render. Turning off mirrors removes black screen in front of cockpit mirrors. You can also see that the memory is at the limit. I noticed this first in a custom multiplayer campaign with mods but only ~2000 units, so i reproduced the problem with the attached mission without mods. The attached log is produced while capturing video 1. No problem in 2D. Note that if I see it correct the swap file usage is basically null for DCS. All AMD system. OpenXR used for VR. RAM 32GB, VRAM 16GB. I tried removing all mods, DCS repair and deleting shaders including terrain shaders. dcs.log test_9500units.miz MirrorWatterBug.trk Edited June 5, 2022 by RED added track
Stingray 537 Mongo Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Same issue here. Happens only in the Tomcat for me but has happened in the Hornet before on a playground mission with much less than 2000 units loaded. I wonder if the last OB patch introduced a VRAM leak? 537 Mongo CO vVF-161 Fightin' Stingrays Check us out on the web!

RED Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 Ok, tested steamVR and no problem. Ran clean+repair again, deleted saved games and ran with openXR again. Same problem. I think openxr is the problem. Log attached for that run. Maybe ED knows what is going on but they officially don't support it afaik. cleanrepairOpenXRonly.log
RED Posted June 13, 2022 Author Posted June 13, 2022 Update: This doesn't seem to be a VR bug or related to openXR. Gentoo87 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 I also did a clean install, and it continued to happen. I can run water on low. Disabled open XR and the problem persists. My game didn't know the difference until I accidentally activated the Hornets mirrors. Prior to clicking on the mirrors by accident, my game ran perfectly. Something happened at that very moment to cause the issue. 1

RED Posted August 21, 2022 Author Posted August 21, 2022 Btw this is not an Open composite problem. It's reported for 2d as well and different hardware/drivers: Video with TGP

Without the toolkit but with openXR works fine for me. On 7/17/2022 at 5:02 PM, Gentoo87 said: Open XR is the cause tested and confirmed. RED Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 Confirmed to be a bug in an old version of open composite. Now fixed in newer versions. 1
