HogRider Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Hi all, this is my first post on the forum and I am very excited that the A-10 is in the works now. I am a big Hog fan and was waiting for a great simulation of this aircraft for a long time. The LOMAC A-10 simulation was not bad, but I was missing a lot of realism with respect to cockpit procedures and cockpit operations. I am interested if the upcoming A-10 simulation will be a study sim as well, where basically all switches and buttons in the 3D cockpit can and have to be operated? I really hope so, because nothing kills the "being there" feeling more than a cockpit you can not accurately operate. Answers would be much appreciated. Nice shots of the A-10 so far! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Doggie Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Hi all I'm very happy to know about the A-10, but is there any chance for DCS to take on F-15E. I played the Janes F-15E sim and loved the immersion factor of it. That plane has everything of current battlefield requirements !
HogRider Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 Hey, this thread is about the A-10C. :smilewink: I am also interested, if we can expect working with FACs on ground and ground troups in general and/or SAR missions. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Purg Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I'm not that much of a fan of the A10 but if it's modelled to the same degree as the KA-50 then I may become one!

Hey, this thread is about the A-10C Oops, sorry! ... yeah also cannot wait for the Hog
-Nighthawk- Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Every single DCS release will be highly detailed hence why the first one was only the KA-50, it takes that much time and effort just to create a single aircraft, so yes
HogRider Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 Yeah, I completely understand that every detailed add-on aircraft/helicopter needs some time to develop. I would be worried if somebody would tell me that it takes only three month or so... It would just be great to have a study sim of the A-10C with a complete clickable 3D cockpit and also the complete range of combat sorties this aircraft was build for and is able to do. Just read "Warthog: Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War" and you know what I mean. :smilewink: The hog was one of the, if not the most feared aircraft in the Gulf War. Just read the book and I bet a lot of the "fast moovers" will fall in love with this aircraft. I would love to also fly CSAR mission like this one, to rescue downed pilots or ground troops. RvEYoda Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Can't wait to fly the f-15 with missions with advanced triggers....wow *Check forum avatar...thats how i will look when i get DCS eagle :) * S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). HogRider Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 I just read that the FAC/AFAC AI functionality is currently missing for Blackshark. Can we expect to have it for the A-10C? This is basically a MUST HAVE for this type of aircraft and shouldn't be left out. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team JimMack Posted December 28, 2008 ED Team Posted December 28, 2008 I just read that the FAC/AFAC AI functionality is currently missing for Blackshark. Can we expect to have it for the A-10C? This is basically a MUST HAVE for this type of aircraft and shouldn't be left out. If you play multiplayer - FAC capability is there, you just to have to allocate one of the players as the FAC (see http://www.thebattlesim.com) Having problems? Rhino4 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 F15 C is on the list. He was asking about the E model. Completely different bird, and it won't be included in any future releases because of the amount of classified data that remains on this bird. As for the A-10C, I can't wait! I'm going to send a rain of iron right into the enemy's teeth! :gun_rifle:
HogRider Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Yeah, in multiplayer thats a cool thing. However, AI functionality to simulate FAC/AFAC in single player mode should be possible as well. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
