I waited.... forever... for Red to engage. I circled and circled after Red was cleared to engage, he didn't do anything.

So I thought, am I supposed to engage? When I fired, then I got the voiceover that Red was engaging. Then, after I'd destroyed the vehicle Red was supposed to destroy, I got the voiceover to engage myself. So I strafed the second vehicle. And nothing happened. So I strafed the third vehicle. Still nothing happened.

Then DCS crashed.

Was I supposed to wait even longer? I mean, I'd waited 5+ minutes after Red said he was already in a position to engage and was cleared. I could have rifled 10 mavericks in the time I waited.

I just finished this mission...I had 100 score...but I think something is wrong...

After the second engagement RED was hit...smoked...The leader told me to stay with him...

After the radio call about switchblade to be ready in 3 mikes I didn't get anymore voice overs or comms.

I read multiple times the message history to see if I have lost some frequency change request...But I didn't get any of those.

After RED landed in HAIFA, I espected some communications...nothing...I went back to carrier as I was getting low on fuel.

The marshall replied to me, instructed for CASE I recovery...then no more comms...he didn't reply to see you at ten, and also at my call the ball (I tried both on ch3 and ch 4 which were marshall and tower).

Also being low on fuel I tried to contact texaco ( the freq and tacan were on the kneeboard), but the tacan was not receiving and the frequency was muted.

I decided to land anyway (I did with 1850 lbs) and I expected a low score for having missed something, but my score was 100.

What did I lose??

I don’t recall exactly, but what I often do if I think I missed some dialog or story and don’t want to replay the mission is track down a YouTube video of the mission and just skip ahead to the missed parts:

Thanks for your suggestion, I found a walkthrough of the mission on youtube.

And basically I did nothing wrong but since the Cajun's call to stay with Flip I did not receive any other call.

I did not receive these ones and the later ones

I also did not receive this "visit"

 

 

I also did not receive the request about texaco...so basically something was messed up

Strange. My first time through it stalled out when red was supposed to engage, just didn’t progress from there. Tried a second time and all worked properly.

I think sometimes a trigger or flag just doesn’t fire, leaving the mission “stalled.”

In my case he did engage, just it took some time for him.

Probably some trigger did not get fired...very strange...but can happen, I love this campaign also because of all the voice overs and scritping (in the sense of the story)...so losing something doesn't make me happy...but I am not sad enough to re-play a 100 scored mission just for this

Let me know if this happens again, then I will look into this. As things are I feel I am spending more time troubleshooting campaigns after each update (missions I didn't touch but somehow got broken by changes in core DSC) than working on a new content , so I would be grateful if you could check again and if the problem persists let me know, I'll see what can be wrong.

I'm just replaying, and I think I know why I waited forever for Red to engage. It's happened again on my second run through - Red has run off at the high port, waaaaay to the east. Like, single handedly invading Syria far, over 40 miles. When called to engage, he then needs to truck waaaaay back west to actually engage!

@Sandman1330 I tried this mission and cannot reproduce Red's behaviour, he attacked immediately for me in both instances. AI being AI I guess..

OK, no worries. In my case he did eventually attack, he just had to truck aall the way back to do it!

Hi, have just finished the mission.  Hit targets, did the Haifa landing, landed on carrier as a case 1.  Plane all good.  Didn't give me mission complete and has only scored me 50!  Followed Tacan back from Haifa.  Red landed safely etc.  Did I miss something?
