Mike Force Team Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Will ED upgrade the naval assets in the near future? Great to see new jets and new maps but not so much fun when the surface ships and subs not updated. MFT
Tank50us Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Unfortunately, there's no new news other than the addition of several new ships along side the South Atlantic map.
upyr1 Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 We need a lot more ships as well as a massive overhaul.
Silver_Dragon Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 None plans by ED, others 3rd parties has none talk about them except RAZBAM and SA assets or Deka add someone on a future. Northstar98 Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Only thing I can remember recently is a newsletter discussing that exhaust smoke will be improved, alongside ship motions and damage models: Quote We are pleased to inform you that the smoke emitted from exhausts and from impact damage is being improved. Roll and sway effects in windy conditions are also work in progress. Next, we will be working on the collision model of certain ships to improve the impact zone accuracy of anti-radiation missiles such as the AGM-88C HARM. This work is part of broader enhancements to ship Damage Model. As far as new assets go, the only thing I can think of is the South Atlantic assets, though they share all the same issues as the rest of DCS ships + a few of their own. Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas. System: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070S FE, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV. Peripherals: VKB Gunfighter Mk.II w. MCG Pro, MFG Crosswind V3 Graphite, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.
Callsign112 Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 I might be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere awhile back that there were assets planned for the WWII Pacific map in addition to what M3LLC was doing. "Some outstanding bugs and improvements for our naval units are also being addressed. We have improved wakes and smoke effects as well as ballast options that in turn change the water line, ship speeds and inertias. Work on collision modeling is also in progress, as well as basic roll characteristics in windy conditions." But in terms of updates for Naval units, the quote from the top of the newsletter you linked says the same thing in a slightly different way. It is interesting to note that there are at least 6 planned improvements to Naval units in those few sentences. Wakes, smoke effects, ballast options, collision model, roll, other enhancements.
