Butcher868 Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 How high is the chance that the map will be expanded? The Fallon Air Base would be great! 11 Intel Core i9 13900K; Palit GeForce RTX 4090; 64GB Kingston FURY DDR5 Steam | Discord | Twitch | YouTube | Instagram
Silver_Dragon Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 How high is the chance that the map will be expanded? The Fallon Air Base would be great! ED has none plans to expand them, and actually has feature complete. algherghezghez Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 For the life of me I can’t understand why, I mean it’s one airbase, and it would completely change the usability of nttr map; you don’t even have to model the city, just give better textures and put in the airport. 4
Hoirtel Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 There has been so many requests for fallon. I hope that we can get a Nevada 2.0 at some point. A paid update would be fine with me. Since the Caucasus update the nevada map now has the oldest ground textures of them all. There is so much potential for expansion on it too. 7 1
algherghezghez Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 I totally agree! Even a paid update, I’m sure most of us would buy it. Did Ed ever give an official explanation? Like it’s technically impossible ( map too big, performance impact etc.) or they just don’t care? 5

Afghan is in the works plus updates to others I'm sure. Nobody has unlimited time. 3
algherghezghez Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Of course, but they categorically say no, not a not now, maybe there’s some other reason I’m missing 1

Would be a bliss, that, and a pretty nice gift. We all here deserve it - and not for the money and the time spent here only, I mean. So couldn't agree more, dear mate. Isn't Atlantic map big? Why not Nevada going bigger too, then? With best regards. 2
Woogey Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) Eagle Dynamics hear us out. Please expand NTTR. Please give us a Low detail expansion all the way to the west coast (Orange border). Please update the existing area to be high detail with your current map tech (Red Border). Please extend the high detail area south to the Mexican border to include San Diego and Yuma (Purple Border). If nothing else please add Fallon to the existing map. Please add the following air bases so that our modules have a true home. Miramar (F-14, F-5, A-4), Yuma (AV-8B, F-5), El Toro (F-4S, F/A-18, A-4), Lemoore (A-7, F/A-18) George AFB (F-4E, OV-10). As a bonus, you could add Edwards AFB for ALL air frames, NAS North Island, and Luke AFB (not pictured) for F-16's. The Orange border is the size of the new Iraq map dimensions. -Woog Edited December 30, 2024 by Woogey 14 2
Boss86005 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Woogey, that would be a great map expansion! I would also like to see Luke AFB in Phoenix added. 1 "We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the day and night to visit violence on those who would do us harm". --------------------------------------------------------- Intel i-9 9900k @ 5.0 Ghz, EVGA 2080tiFTW3 11Gb, Corsair H115 PRO water cooler, Gigabyte AorusMaster motherboard, EVGA Super Nova 1000 watt G+ powersupply, G.SKILL 64Gb ram @3800 MHz, HP EX 920 M.2 PCIe 3TB,Windows 10Pro x64
Andrew8604 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 But the Nevada Map would then be what, maybe 200 GB?? I would rather see a Vietnam Map, first. I know ED said they will never, never, never, ever add a single byte to Nevada. But when they do... I'd say just add detail area to include the NAS Fallon airbase and area, as well as a high detail, 50nm-wide corridor to the Pacific Ocean, to include: NWC China Lake, Edwards AFB, Palmdale Plant 42, (former) George AFB, Vandenburg AFB and Ft. Irwin and Bicycle Lake Army Airfield. Include high detail California islands of San Clemente, with the airstrip there, Santa Catalina, San Nicolas and the Channel Islands (San Miguel, Santa Rosa & Santa Cruz which are uninhabited). High detail south of a line from Pismo Beach to Tehachapi; and north of a line from Gaviota to Hesperia to Parker Dam on the Colorado River; and east of a line from Tehachapi, north to Mt. Whitney, and to a point west of NAS Fallon. And then ocean out to 125-deg W and south to 31-deg N. This would allow long range aircraft carrier operations to join in to the NTTR and include the China Lake Naval Weapons Center ranges. I think this would reinvigorate the Nevada map without greatly increasing its GBs on our hard drives. I've chosen this area specifically to avoid having to render large city areas. The A-6E Intruder and A-7E Corsair II, along with Naval Phantoms, F-14s, F/A-18s and A-4 Skyhawk would be great on this expanded map.
Hogeo Posted Wednesday at 12:59 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:59 PM As already mentioned, in San Diego, there is NAS North Island, the home base for the Pacific Fleet's aircraft carriers and their CVWs. And in the waters southwest of San Diego, there is the Southern California Range Complex(SOCAL Complex), where carriers and CVWs conduct training and CQ before deployment. So I think an expansion of the DCS: Nevada map is inevitable for DCS: Supercarrier. In my opinion, it needs to be expanded by at least double its current height and width. 1
