Svsmokey Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Got the T-50 CM2 grip and WarBrD base less than a month after (easy because of PayPal) ordering . Was particularly surprised by how fast the shipping was . 2-3/4 days from Lithuania to rural AR , USA . Setup went as smoothly as possible , the overall quality is reflected in the looks (this thing looks like a serious piece of flightsim gear !) And the additional control is much appreciated . So yeah , would highly recommend Virpil based on my experience . 1 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2

Svsmokey Posted July 22, 2022 Author Posted July 22, 2022 Anyone have info on the CM3 throttle throw (travel) ? I am considering it as well as the Winwing Super Taurus . Currently using a CH Pro throttle with about 2" of (linear) travel and would prefer at least 3x that in linear or rotary travel for AA refueling or carrier traps . 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2
dawgie79 Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 (edited) Coming from Virpil’s first throttle, I’ve received the CM3 a few days ago. The CM3 has quite a bit more travel than expected (haven’t measured it though but it’s considerably more than the one I had), even with both detents installed, which work really great by the way. I think that kind of quality for that price is unmatched. Pretty much the same with Virpil’s first Mongoose stick compared to the CM2 stick. Edited July 23, 2022 by dawgie79
alboon2000 Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Hi, how soon did you get your products ? I ordered on august 1st and still haven't received anything...

The travel length is only one of the variables and you shouldn't focus on it alone. There's also the mechanism precision and the board's resolution. I also have a CH pro throttle, upgraded to 10bit resolution. The problem there is that the physical mechanism of the throttle is not all accurate. I currently have a TM Warthog throttle that, although not the best, it is years ahead in performance. I can now reliably AAR, simply because of the new throttle.

Johnny Dioxin Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 My T50 stick is about 3 years old now and things are starting to stop working. I always take good care of my kit, so it's not neglect and I am gentle when using (otherwise I end up in pain due to arthritic hands like I always did with my metal and angular Warthog HOTAS and why I sold it ). Last time I had an issue I got no response from Virpil, so haven't bothered now, not that it matters as it's now out of warranty. The throttle has been problematic for a few months, but that may be down to the software. It doesn't seem to register the inputs for long enough (just the base, the handle buttons and hats are okay) for some sims to recognise the press and I couldn't find a way to extend the signal. Mind you, it used to be fine on the same firmware, so it may be something else. I often have to press or switch multiple times to get the action executed. For the kind of money paid, I expected it to be going well for a lot longer and I'm very disappointed because I don't have much in the first place (and all the spare goes on my hobbies). Without the issues it would be easily the best HOTAS I've owned. Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!

Not very encouraging news indeed. - the inputs not registering might be a software issue, or bad contact at the switches / buttons ? - the manufacturer not responding, doesn't impress very well also... I'm looking at a VPC WarBRD Base eventually, as I have the idea that Virpil products are durable, but this kind of feedback do raise some concerns with me.
