Maybe that wasn’t clear. I mean they’re going to reply. During a conversation. I’d have to go back to the sim and test what this topic is even about because it goes completely unnoticed by me. Any of the conversations here like with ATC or a JTAC I believe the menu pops up when they reply.

Come on Sharpy! This is why you always end up in these ridiculous discussions.

Anyway, as soon as you land and slow to a certain speed, or by chance don't take off completely take off and touch the runway, the AI instructs you to park, and the menu pops up. 

Now, there are ways to solve it, but it should be handled by ED.

Since we are talking about unwanted situations where ATC initiates comms with you (and not responds to you), and you used the word 'initiate' in your post, I think I may be forgiven to have misread you. Apologies, and thank you for clearing that up. Given that this thread is about ATC inappropriately initiating coms with you, I'm at a loss as to how to interpret your post.

Well I’m at a loss too in understanding the topic. Yes sometimes the comms menu pops up but exactly when or where I can’t recall, even after ten years of DCS. Again because I’d just subconsciously flip it off. Maybe a track would help explain. If you want ED to address something that’s usually the thing to do.

True it doesn't happen for startup. I don't think it happens for taxi as well. Take off, can't recall. Might happen if you enter the threshold. But for parking, it's definitely there. 

Don't think tracks are needed as this request comes up at least once a year.

Well if you don’t want to just spin their wheels. Give them a track of something specific and repeatable. That’s usually how it works. 
 

And the trouble with these requests is what you’re really asking is for them to stop work on what they’re doing now, like developing a new ATC system, to go back and rework something else. It already takes years and years for ED to develop anything and now you’re asking them to prolong that to resolve petty gripes. Doesn’t seem worthwhile.

Then jump into any FC3 plane, and be really annoyed. If you don't have the (really nice) FC3 planes, that's your loss. I think the OP's post has merit.

Again you show lack of knowledge. VoiceAttack is not a modification. It's a seperate app, that kan send keystrokes, mouse clicks or whatever. 

I mentioned VAICOM. That's a plugin for VA, which DOESN'T send keystrokes, but talk directly to DCS. That's why it works so well, and hiding the menu is the first thing you want to do.

Well, if they hadd ONE dedicated part time low cost intern student or whatever, that could change these small things. We would all be better off. Not that I'm suggesting how ED is to run their business, but what you write is totally BS.

Ok plug-in. Whatever. I still have trouble understanding why it’s so hard to just hit a HOTAS button to remove the menu. Apparently there’s already a mod for this too.

Once it's fixed, it's fixed... What's there to abandon?

Also are you saying that this will delay us having new features? A fix (albeit an IC breaking user mod) already exists. How much is it going to delay us by? 5 minutes? I think we'll cope - we've been waiting years for this as it is.

How do you know it'll replace the annoying functionality of the communications menu? We got the new ATC for the SC and that didn't change it.

I actually don’t see the menu pop up on the SC, when do you see that happening? Sometimes I get a random message after takeoff but I think it was related to a DLC campaign. Funny this bothers some people but it goes completely unnoticed by me if it happens. I suspect that’s true for most people which is why it’s never been changed.

PSA on the mod that was posted:

It works, but it breaks Supercarrier comms. After calling inbound you get an auto-popup with new comms info for "see you" and such. Since this mod interrupts this popup, the menu gets stuck at "inbound." As a single-ship in CASE I this isn't a problem since "see you" is triggered automatically, but for CASE I with AI or CASE III it messes things up.
