[EDIT: edited to let only Dead Zone problem, since the AB detent problem was solved with latest update] The same is true here on my Warthog. It was after the last major update. It got horrible. |Motherboard|: Asus TUF Gaming X570-PLUS, |WaterCooler|: Corsair H115i Pro, |CPU|: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, |RAM|: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3200MHz DDR4, |SSD|: Kingston A2000 500GB M.2 NVMe, |SSD|: Kingston 2.5´ 480GB UV400 SATA III, |SSHD|: Seagate Híbrido 2TB 7200RPM SATA III, |GPU|: MSI Gaming 980Ti, |Monitor|: LG UltraWide 34UM68, |Joystick 1|: Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog, |Joystick 2|: T.Flight Rudder Pedals, |Head Motion|: TrackIr 5.
MAXsenna Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 Right. Done some testing on my Warthog. I have found the numbers of my "none-responsive zone". Found these by using the VPC Joystick Tester Tool. Watching the RPM in the module etc. My "deadzone" is 13% of the whole axis. The afterburner zone starts at 30%, which makes the actual "deadzone" more than 18%. That's quite a lot, and I do notice this while taxiing and landing. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. Cheers!
ivanwong1989 Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I concur that i see this as well. The first part of the throttle is counted as movement from the inputs, BUT it doesn't reflect into the plane's throttles. 1
MAXsenna Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Well, this made me check other modules. The F1 is not alone. M2K and Viggen have the same issue.

Even worse; for the M2K even the pitch/roll inputs seems to have hardcoded deadzones which for me made it the hardest aircraft to AAR. Given the different hardware devices configuring of deadzones should be left to the user IMHO. 1
sedenion Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I never noticed it, but I confirm M2K have the same throttle deadzone as F1... However I don't see any pitch/roll deadzones in the M2K. 1

Not necessarily. Real aircraft do have controls assistance that changes the required force to set stick at position depending speed and other factors, this in order to prevent the pilot to make excessive maneuvers and keep the aircraft stable. You can't simulate that except using FFB devices, so software have to emulate this using some software curves and deadzones. 1
ThorBrasil Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Any news for the dead zone correction on the throttle? This issue still persists in DCS 2.8 OpenBeta. Thanks! 1 |Motherboard|: Asus TUF Gaming X570-PLUS, |WaterCooler|: Corsair H115i Pro, |CPU|: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, |RAM|: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3200MHz DDR4, |SSD|: Kingston A2000 500GB M.2 NVMe, |SSD|: Kingston 2.5´ 480GB UV400 SATA III, |SSHD|: Seagate Híbrido 2TB 7200RPM SATA III, |GPU|: MSI Gaming 980Ti, |Monitor|: LG UltraWide 34UM68, |Joystick 1|: Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog, |Joystick 2|: T.Flight Rudder Pedals, |Head Motion|: TrackIr 5.
Flappie Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Hi. I'm not sure which part of the axis course you're talking about... I've just tried it while looking at the aircraft throttle and I haven't found any dead zone. ---

It has a dead zone at idle. Flappie Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Many thanks! Now that I can clearly see the dead zone in your video, I can see it on my rig too. I guess my brain was resisting the idea. Gap reported. 1 ---
