not planned Ukrainian livery for F16

On the f-18 aircraft, it has long been possible to choose the Ukrainian livery... Is it possible to make the same option for the F16 aircraft? 

For a MIG-29 there is a beautifully executed one of the Ukrainian liveries can it be transferred to F16 ?

Thank you very much I know about user liveries but in this case my question is addressed to the game developers so that the livery gets into the list of official liveries inside the game...

Did any airforce in the world use Ukranian liveries on their F-16?

As far as I know, game uses liveries that are not fictional.

I dont know, I rely on the fact that the Hornet and A10 has such a livery

I know Hornet only has Maverick liverie, that was a promo liverie for the bundle they had, but that's about it. No idea for A10. But none of the planes has official liveries that are not actually used in real world.

We really don't need extra liveries with base game cause it only increases space used, if you wanna have Ukranian liverie for F-16 you can get it from users section, no need for everyone to have it on their drives.

Well, we can speculate, Ukrainians are eyeing the Viper and the F-15, even sending their pilots to train in the US which suggests they might be quite serious about it. We might just as well be ahead of the curve.

We can then just make every country liverie for every plane, and throw it in the base game so we are ahead of the curve?

5TB game but we are ready

Lets wait for it to happen. There are lots of ppl that don't use fictional liveries, and they don't want their hard drives packed with extra stuff they don't need.

 

 

I think this is driven by current situation in the world and nothing else. If if wasn't like it is today he wouldn't be asking for this.

Liveries are completely open as far as accuracy goes and there are a few aircraft that, aircraft ship with fictional liveries.

These liveries may be fictional to the variant (for instance the F-16CM Block 50 is exclusively operated by the US and Turkey, as AFAIK they're the only customers of the CCIP program, so arguably, any other livery is fictional) or fictional all together (the MiG-21bis for instance has Argentinian, British, Japanese and Swedish liveries, despite none of them operating any variant of the MiG-21 as well as the wholly fictional Northeria and Southeria).

Either way we'll probably see a Ukrainian livery for the F-16, officially or not.

There is one in user files, no need for it to be a part of the game. If someone wants to use it he or she can download it.

Well, Russia, for one, is quite unlikely to buy the Viper anytime soon, so we can cross it off the list.  Potential customers, though? I wouldn't mind. There aren't that many countries on that list right now, anyway. Most people are buying the F-35 these days, the Viper is a legacy product IRL at this point. Of course, it's a legacy product that's still kicking ass, but Ukraine isn't exactly swimming in money right now, so it's a good fit.

Ok lets then wait for it to happen.

 

Base game doesn't have Ukraine Liveries on many planes, it has them on some, mostly the ones Ukraine uses.

I just don't want a trend to start with this making the game 5TB cause of all the fictional liveries. If you want to use it, there it is in the user files, no one is stopping you.

Perhaps better solution would be to implement support for livery to be deployed server side and offered to client to download from server if not already present?

Client would be still able to decline in which case the default livery would be used.

This way both server admin and user retain control.

There are some fictional liveries for some aircraft in the base game, I remember using the tropic green, desert and HAF (Hellenic Air Force, Greece) liveries on the Ka-50 and the HAF livery on the Su-33, those are all fictional.

I think @Furizmade a valid point. On the other side you found evidence of HAF liveries.

Should we make further exceptions just because we have some already?

But what about liveries for aircrafts that are actually represented in real life and are not present in DCS?

This is false, there are actually a ton of official liveries in the game that are fictional. Many are even called out in the name as fictional. Just a quick and not-exhaustive list:

A-10C: Algerian, Australian, Canadian, Georgian, German, Israeli, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Greek. 

F/A-18C: Israeli, Russian, English, Ukrainian.

Depending on how you want to define "realistic" there are a bunch of other fictional liveries in DCs as well, such as CAF for the F/A-18C, and a number of F-16 liveries for nations that don't fly the Block 50 F-16C but do fly other versions of the F-16.
