To be fair, the only objection so far I could have is: How would I be supposed to reach all those knobs and switches at the bottom row with that scope covering the whole thing up? The only way to reach those is either reaching inside that thing and therefore not seeing any results of manipulation, taking the thing off on the ground (which most people here do probably) or unicorn magic.

There is a cutout on the bottom of it allowing access to the controls, easy to see in VR, impossible to use in VR...

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

If you use VR you can see a gap at the bottom, tbh it looks pretty small -but- there is a gap at the bottom.

Well i found it actually the best of the early radars on DCS compared with Mig 19, 21 and F-5. And also NOT magic like early FC3 radars.

I enjoy it a lot, it is useful within its limitations and like I said you need to work for the lock its not magic. If anything those 530 track too well LOL.

Ive watched all the vids.....several times....and I cant pick up nothing on that radar.

What am I doing wrong......Even when directed by a GCI I cant see <profanity>.....a lot of you are getting success so I guess its down to me.

Also....for the ground radar im getting nothing either!!

Just a question, but do you have the radar turned on? the screen will look like it's on when its in standby mode, but it won't emit.

But honestly I haven't had a problem with the radar, like at all. I use it to map the ground, find ships, and detect and lock onto air targets, all of which it does fine. I personally usually narrow the azimuth and range to get that refresh rate up a bit. For the era, I think it's a very good radar.

I think it works fine given the age of the plane and it much better than no radar, regardless. I would say keep practicing and it will come, it’s a fun little jet and well done. I got her up to Mach 2 the other day and the shock cones do work, so that’s some detail.
