When only cannon BFM happens betwwen two bandits, AI always disengaging (specially russian jets). it can test easily in F-18 AA quick mission, BFM with Mig-29: if you don´t do nothing, the bandit pass you and fly away, never pursuit to shoot down.

In addition, in BFM with cannons, AI never shoot you when both planes are head to head. You can shoot down easily.

Hi NineLine, I attached 2 tracks in my first post. As you can see, every time the Mig-29 disengages everytime (I fly straight at mach 0.7 all the time). In one of them, Mig-29 have all fuel. Moreover, moder fighter never use guns in head to head BFM. Nevere. So its very easy to shoot down...

The same situation happens with other fighters like SU-27

I am not sure I see an issue here, I am not sure its wise to go guns straight in, that isn't the point of the mission, and chances are you would just shoot each other down. From that though, you just fly straight and fly away from the MiG-29, it turns around and flies after you, but you have extended too far away and breaks off. If you turned in on him, I am sure he would have continued to fight.

Thanks for your feedback. What I see is me flying relatively slow, and my enemy refuses to engage me. This is not correct, specially considering that he has the objective to intercept me. In addition, head to head shots must happen, and with modern fighters the AI never engage. With 2WW fighters, some times they shot on head to head, but not modern.

I tried with track number 2. Turned it into .miz and tested. For a reason I'd say the "attack group" task has a bug / corrumption.

test-1.miz is the exact mission from track : (as player I activate Balt and reduce throttle to stabilize M0.81) Mig29 turns from merge and then immediately break from fight (all the times, but sometimes, rarely, it is because he lost detection upon player - checked that with a istargetdetected() trigger)

test-2.miz is the same but I just re created the "attack group" task with the exact same default option : Mig29 allways kill the player (no break)

Also Mig29 can shoot guns face to face (see track).
