Huge performance decrease after 2.7 VR

Dog 1-1

Recommended Posts

Title.  After the most recent update my performance in VR has gotten markedly worse.  Overall lower FPS and freezing when opening the theater map, as well as the F10 menu.  My game will go black inside my reverb G2 for 5-10 seconds when accessing the F10 menu.  Demanding airfields and cities will also cause it to happen.  I've gone through this forum and it looks like it's a fairly common problem, and I've tried some of the fixes described in other threads.

My Specs are:

5900X

Asus Tuf X570

Evga 3090

32 GB Gskill F4-3600 Ram

Game is on a Samsung 970 NVME

I've been pulling my hair out trying to solve this new issue.  Turning down most of my graphics settings doesn't help as the freezing is still present.

I'm running the same machine, Except for a rtz2070 super and a Meg x570 ace max. And maybe get 10 to 14 fps on the AH64D.

Every setting is low.

What's up with this when they are going to fix it, This game engine is very old and all they wanna do is make more modules that we don't need.

Please, ED help us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Guys check if the trouble is not partially caused by recent 22H2 Windows 11 update.

"Go to Computer Management* → System Tools → Performance → Data Collector Sets → Event Trace Sessions. In this list, find HolographicShell, right click, and choose ‘Stop’."

*right click at This computer icon/ select "manage"

I am not an VR expert, but AFAIK from guys of my squadron, they now run VR using OpenXR instead of Steam (since 2.7)

Try this if you have Windows 11 22h2

"Go to Computer Management → System Tools → Performance → Data Collector Sets → Event Trace Sessions. In this list, find HolographicShell, right click, and choose ‘Stop’."

seems to help with frames. Stopping the windows logging session for the headset

you will have to do this each time windows boots as it resets, i set a scheduled event (to run with admin privs (which you need to turn them off) to run

logman stop HolographicShell -ets

i have it run just before i start DCS

note you can add a trigger to the scheduled event for workstation unlock, which will run the script at login , i tried at startup but that was too early in the boot cycle
