dporter22 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Is there something simple I'm missing to get auto sequence of waypoints and the autopilot to work consistently? On the HSI I select WYPT and SEQ1, but when I press the AUTO OSB it only turns on rarely. Sometimes it works if I try again a few minutes later, sometimes not. The autopilot also only works sometimes. Dead zones set, trims set, flying straight and level, no stick movement, etc. Often when I select CPLD or BAR it gives me a warning beep and master caution light but no colon next to them and they don't turn on. Try again later and sometimes it works, sometimes not.
rob10 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 My 1st thought would be make sure you're holding the UFC button a little longer. A really quick press won't activate the autopilot. You don't quite need a long press, but close to it. Otherwise the things you mentioned would be 1st steps. If it's not that, check that you're not getting spikes from your joystick.
dporter22 Posted September 4, 2022 Author Posted September 4, 2022 Yep, tried short, medium, long, and very long presses. Stick is centered, no movement, no spikes. Odd.
Foka Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 You can not activate AUTO on HSI when A/P is active. You need to disengage A/P, select AUTO, engage A/P.
dporter22 Posted September 4, 2022 Author Posted September 4, 2022 Correct, autopilot is not engaged when trying to select AUTO.
Phantom711 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 (edited) @dporter22 on the HSI screen, right row bottom button where it says SEQ1…press this again and it will then be boxed. Niw you should be able to press AUTO for auto sequencing. the logic is as follows: that button toggles through the 3 sequences (kind of like a flight plan). At first toggle you select the sequence (unboxed) and you can modify it if desired. At the second push you then select it as the active sequence (boxed) and you can fly it but not modify it anymore. so pushing it will go through it like this: SEQ1-[SEQ1]-SEQ2-[SEQ2]-SEQ3-[SEQ3] …then it starts all over. CBStu Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 I have noticed the same thing. Random 'AUTO' activation. I think the comments above are correct but I am not sure. I just make a mental note when it doesn't activate and try it again a little later. Usually on the second try it works so I haven't bothered to try to figure out the exact reason when it doesn't activate.

Yes, SEQ1 is boxed. I've tried everything, but most of the time I'm unable to select AUTO.
