phantom0gritz Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I think it would be best to have the Dero unit being permanent and the FCR itself as an option from the load out page. But this just my opinion as someone who has installed and removed IRL. Yes you would lose the weight of the Dero unit but I think making a permanent part of the 3D model would be easier on the DCS systems. I understand that its a delicate balancing act between realism and it being a game. But installing and removing a Dero unit requires some fairly in-depth maintenance where as installing the FCR is much simpler and take far less time. Again this simply mine own opinion. The only other option would be that you would have to choose which configuration to load within the mission editor before hand, but that would mean 2-3 3D models for one module and it seems somewhat excessive and not something I see the developers wanting or needing to do. Then again my understanding of how the models are made and the coding involved being called rudimentary would be kind so it might be a "relatively" simple thing to make all three configurations. Its ultimately up to the Dev team so we will have to wait and see. 1 1
Stratos Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I vote for "NO" Dero unit If we erase the radar. I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
Yuto Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Hello, have been looking at a lot of apache pictures and i have a request, is it possible that ED adds the ability for us to remove the mast mount cover and have it empty like shown in the pics below? would really love for it to be modelled on our apache and it would be nice to have for some skins. It does fit in our apaches timeline so I dont see any reason why we shouldn't add it. Regards, Yuto 4
ED Team NineLine Posted September 12, 2022 ED Team Posted September 12, 2022 This is requested, not sure if or when it might happen, thanks. 2 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
AirSenpai Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 null It would be immersive if we could select some variations form the Ground Crew Rearming Window and a box where we could select the following options: Legend : Var = Variation; FCR = Fire Control Radar ( AN/APG 78 Longbow Radar). Var 1 : No FCR mount. ( red triangule).null Var 2: Current DCS default option before the FCR was implemented ( 17 march 2022 ~ soon?) (red star). Var 3: Pointy/triangule mount ( red circule). Var 4: FCR complete mount. With the AN/APG 78 ( red lightning strike symbol). (we can pick it up but depending on the script on the mp server). Independent of the script on multiplayer if it would come with or without the radar ( if you join a random server and you have no way of knowing if the slot has the fcr on or not) you could change it on the fly, we would not be tied with the fcr if we do not want to. ( saving fuel and performance and could be a priority depending on the mission). It would transform the Apache like the HAD changes for the F-16s, it takes a bit of the performance and tilts the aircraft sideways in flight and consumes a bit more fuel with the HAD on than without but, increases the f16 performance on the SEAD/DEAD missions. ( It adds a little pylon under the engine cowling so we could attach the HAD (something we did not had for a long time). As for the Apache, the visual changes would be on top of the rotor, both in terms of performance ( drag/fuel efficiency) and looks. Different options would give us different visuals, we could customize the aircraft the way we want, like historical loadouts and needs on the battlefield. Ps: The name "VAR" could be subjected to change to whatever developers wanted to rename it.

The "pointy thing" is a MUM-T upper receiver, fancy drone/video reception stuff. we shouldn't be getting that specific one because it didn't exist back then. The non-DU variation would be cool to have for aesthetic reasons but low priority I think. Edited January 31, 2023 by DaemonPhobos 2
