A big thank you to Rick50, who responded graciously to my suggestion to improve his poll and encouraged me to make a new thread that hopefully:

A) Will be seen as fair by everyone.

B) Will inform people who want this module of how many other people there are and what the general consensus might be.

C) Will be capable of informing any future developers should they ever care to take a look when they want to research on a potential new module.

I admit my hopes for B and C are lofty, especially since I'm a fighter person and would likely not buy this module myself.

Rick50 also let me use his question and choices on the variants question.

I voted a "maybe" .. while I would probably purchase one just to learn the pilot and weapons officer stations, I don't see myself actually flying missions with it, as the Tomcat convinced me that no matter how smart the AI crew is, it will never be enjoyable to share my aircraft with it.

I would like an early B-52 from 1950s when it was still a dengerous aircraft, bare metal, considered high performance ingineering achievement. With defensive armament. To be attacked by MiG-15s, MiG-17s, MiG-19, S-75. And maybe escorted by F-100s at some part of the route in some scenarios. Penetrating Soviet territory from the Arctic routes over the North Pole. It would require world map to show its full potential.

Are you able to edit the poll to include the current mission roles the B52H participated in?

(JTAC) on station support, command and control, war against Isis ect.

Also the maps in DCS, support the current operations of the B52. So for (the hundredth time now), the B52 is not just a long range platform anymore. Current day ops utilizes it in different mission roles than what you are listing and attempting to convey.

Maybe one day, people will actually see its mission during the past 10 years is actually very applicable for DCS.

To answer question 1, there’s already an AI version coming

Should the B-52 be a player module? Yes, I wouldn't buy it now nor do I think there is a problem with map sizes.

But I can't vote because there is no such option. So much for "improving" a poll.

btw: "No (but it should have an AI version)" - the AI is already in the game since years.

That is one of the purposes of 'Maybe'; I'm glad you found it intuitive enough to use. The poll options only have 2 yes answers because the second yes answer reveals something that needs to be changed with other parts of the game for someone to see it as viable. "Yes (once maps are large enough) is not a perfect poll answer, but it nudges closer to 'yes' than 'maybe' because the onus is more on the developer than the customer.

The cold war started really close to the end of WWII, so I think "Early Cold War..." covers your desired version. If not, sorry, I thought it did.

I intentionally removed current day versions because it would be the only official version of an aircraft to be in that era, and therefore not really make a whole lot of sense.

Oh, awesome, thanks. I think I'll leave the option in because it doesn't meaningfully split the vote. I also don't know if I'll mess up the poll by deleting an answer.

1) You would fall into the 'Maybe' category/answer for the poll. I have adjusted the answer to reflect that; thanks for your input.

It's probably not the response you wanted, but your request is asking for a second non-committal answer where the onus of the decision lies entirely with the customer (see above in this post for the explanation of why maps being larger gets its own yes answer). Maybe you have a perfect track record of buying every module you said you would buy in the future, but not everyone does. In general, people who say they'll buy a luxury item (not important to everyday living like food, affordable transportation, utilities, shelter, etc.) in the future don't follow up on those words often enough to be a reliable 'Yes'. And since I'm polling lots of people, all of whom neither I nor potential developers know personally, providing an extra 'Maybe' answer in the form of a 'Yes' would only serve to obfuscate the meaningful data.

2) Thanks for telling me,  I think I'll leave the option in because it doesn't meaningfully split the vote and obfuscate the data (it's still a no). I also don't know if I'll mess up the poll by deleting an answer, and don't want to risk it.

Yes it does. This was a period B-52 was considered cutting edge technology and great engineering achievement, and it was able to do its main design job - to penetrate Soviet airspace and deliver nuclear weapon trying to avoid interception by fighters and early SAMs.

Later, with technology progress, B-52 was relegated to less prestigeous roles.

It would make sense if the question was "Would you buy a FF DCS: B-52 module?" but the current question is "Should the B-52 be a player module?". I say "Yes, definitely, it should be a player module" but the poll does not cover it - the question does not imply anything related to buying - only the answers do.

Well then just answer it as if it's asking whether you'd put your money for it... no dev team cares about a vague aspirational goal for others, they do care if you'll buy or NOT buy, and what might affect your decision from a "won't buy now" to a "OMG take my money!!".

Editing the  poll questions afterwards is itself problematic. People answered to different questions.
