Slayer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think I have seen servers as high as listed as 32 but they have never been full. Realistically it can probably handle 16 people(depending on your hardware) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] System Specs Intel I7-3930K, Asrock EXTREME9, EVGA TITAN, Mushkin Chronos SSD, 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z series 2133, TM Warthog and MFD's, Saitek Proflight Combat pedals, TrackIR 5 + TrackClip PRO, Windows 7 x64, 3-Asus VS2248H-P monitors, Thermaltake Level 10 GT, Obutto cockpit
Tango Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Hi, I've had 10 people connected to my server without issues. Internet connection: ADSL, 8 Mbps down (extremely variable - rubbish ISP!), 430 kbps up. Server computer: Intel Core2 Duo E6700 4Gb DDR2 800 MHz RAM (2.66 Gb in XP due BIOS limits on 32-bit OS config) 1Gb GeForce 7950GX2 Win XP Pro SP3 1600x1200x32 DCS:BS at highest settings except texture res and heat blur when online Runs very well indeed. Best regards, Tango.

But has was said above up to 32 players, but without dedicated server software i cant see that being realistic. AlphaInfinity Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I think I have seen servers as high as listed as 32 but they have never been full. Realistically it can probably handle 16 people(depending on your hardware) Especially if you have custom MP maps. The clients download the maps from the server. Uploads on the DSL/Cable connections will spike every time a player connects. Fudd Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Its do-able. I've seen 60+ clients on a Lock-On Server. I don't see why a Duo Core machine on a fat pipe cant host 32 players. I wouldn't suggest doing it on a home DSL connection though.... Ya need at least 10GB/s up and down. The code is probaly in Russian anyway.
