RedeyeStorm Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 If you manage to get the BS2 shot up it shows internals all ready. It just get’s improved. I know trust me, I get shotup a lot! 2

Unless that’s the case I don’t really understand why they’d model so much of the internal structure. All the panels they show in the pictures they previewed are panels opened by the ground crew and show them opened as such, this is my point unless we are getting the ability to walk around the plane on the ground and open them to look into them or we are going to have ground crew doing pre start up process, then I cant see the point in using a 3d artists man hrs creating this for a module, its not like we are flying DCSS as a FS2020 type sim where this stuff is added eye candy as there is nothing else other than flying. My question would be why do it, what does it give us in a combat simulator. ???, it offers us nothing as far as game play goes, and there are many other things that need updating 3D wise

If you really love the plane or chopper, you won't mind if it gets a little extra attention. I love me some Ka-50 so I'll take anything they offer. If they did all this for the Tomcat, however, I couldn't care less. But others would love it for sure. In any case, I bought the BS2 and I'm buying the BS3 when it comes out, so it's my dollars financing it and if you don't want it, you don't buy. You're off the hook. 6 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
Hotdognz Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Oh I'm buying BS3 they day its released, my comments are all about why add all this extra fluff as I would call it, that's pretty useless for a combat sim.

Well, yes and no. it might not explode or help someone else explode, but there is a lot pretty stuff in the sim that doesn't mean much for combat but lends to the overall impression. Maybe that's what's going on here. It could be as simple as "it looks cool". Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
Dragon1-1 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Polygons are cheap, anyway. If they didn't go overboard on the textures (this being ED, it's possible they did, however I hope they learned from what's been said about the 4K rifles in the Apache), this would cause little performance loss, especially if LODs are done properly. Also, it probably does explode, a lot of interesting detail comes out when you're hit. 2
Germane Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 For my part, I am very happy about the level of detail and hope that it will be the same for future modules as well 2
