Thunder_ Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 anyone can let me know limits ALT HOLD on the Hornet, any other plane u just push the button and it's there, I have to hale almost straight level to engage. as I'm asking any new suggestions to tune down bit sun on the new update ? how do I do that ? thanks
NahkaSukka Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Level the plane and press the button, done. That's how it worked for me last time i played. Only time i had issues with it was when my stick wasn't calibrated correctly. It would just disconnect instantly before. 1
CBStu Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Be sure your stick has a little bit of dead zone. I increased mine several months ago because I had the same problem. Now I can be in fast forward level 3 (which I do a lot on long flights) climbing at 5degrees and as soon as I see it hit 30,000 (or whatever) I hit the BALT and it levels out w/ a couple of slight swings below and above 30000. I just checked and my stick pitch dead zone is set at 3.
Lane Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 I will say same as upper, i have a small dead zone ( not remember even how much ), i can pretty hit anytime on it and it work, even when slighty climbing. it is not much a question be at full level flight, but more than you dont have any input. 1 - I7 2600K @5.2ghz ( EK full Nickel waterblock ) - Gigabyte P67A-UD7 B3 - 8GB Predator 2133mhz - 2x HD7970 - EK Nickel EN H2o block - 2x Crucial realSSD C300 Raid0 - Black Widow Ultimate - X52 -TrackIR 5 - XIfi Titanium HD - Win 7 x64Pro
Ala12Rv-Tundra Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 The flight computer definitely needs to have zero stick pitch input to engage a/p balt i5 8400 | 32 Gb RAM | RTX 2080Ti | Virpil Mongoose T-50 base w/ Warthog & Hornet sticks | Warthog throttle | Cougar throttle USB | Orion 2 throttle base w/ Viper & Hornet grips| VKB T-Rudder Mk IV | Oculus Rift S | Buddy-Fox A-10 UFC | 2x TM MFDs & 1x WW DDI | 2x Bass shakers | SIMple SIMpit chair | WW TakeOff panel | Andre JetSeat | WW Hornet UFC | WW Viper ICP FC3 - Warthog - F-5E - Harrier - NTTR - Hornet - Tomcat - Huey - Viper - C-101 - PG - Hip - SuperCarrier - Syria - Warthog II - Hind - South Atlantic - Sinai - Strike Eagle - Phantom - Mirage F1 - Afghanistan - Irak
Brun Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 The sim should have a built-in tolerance for Alt Hold. It's not a just case of initial engagement, it will also disconnect with the slightest movement. Requiring the user to compromise the directness of their control setup (very detrimental for AAR for example) for the sake of AP is not a solution. Ironically, this is a bigger problem with higher-end hardware than more mainstream sticks. 2 Asus Z690 Hero | 12900K | 64GB G.Skill 6000 | 4090FE | Reverb G2 | VPC MongoosT-50CM2 + TM Grips | Winwing Orion2 Throttle | MFG Crosswind Pedals

I'm running a Virpil WarBRD base with 0 deadzone and have no problems at all with BALT or any other autopilot modes. It takes a fair bit of stick deflection to force BALT to disengage, and when it happens there's a master caution. 1 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. Like I said, higher-end hardware Joking aside, it probably depends on how they're set up. I can't remember exactly which cams I have installed, but the centre is very soft. It will settle naturally at exactly 50% but it's impossible to keep it there while actually holding it. I maintain that no one should have to compromise their preferred set-up because an autopilot feature demands extreme prescision to activate. It's just daft. All a fix would require is a bit of tolerance to be programmed in. HILOK Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 this issue has been discussed many times already, but doesn't seem to have been addressed by ED unfortunately...
CBStu Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I never noticed a difference when I went to 3 deg pitch deadzone.
