Mrgone Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Been looking to get ReShade and OpenXR to play nice together or a long time. Always errored out, as others have describe. This morning I tried an older ReShade 4.9.1 Unofficial version and it all works . . . I'm using the following: OpenXR 1.2.2 OpenComposite 1.0.0.0 Pimax 0.2.8 Pimax Client V1.6.0.21 Rehade 4.9.1 Unofficial If this is redundant or old news to others, than pardon me. I am just so happy that my 8KX now looks this much better.

Mrgone Posted November 14, 2022 Author Posted November 14, 2022 Thanks for posting that link . . . Had downloaded many versions to try. The particular one I am using was not downloaded from there. My unofficial version contains the the older flavor of Dxgi.dll, not the current ReShade64. I run it locally. I also found that I can rename "Dxgi.dll" to "ReShade64.dll" and dump into the global folder and it works there as well, except other apps don't like this version in combination. My file's internal description reads: File version - 4.9.1.82 Prod Version - 4.9.1 Unofficial The version in your link reads: File version - 4.9.1.1003 Prod Version - 4.91 1

Mrgone Posted November 14, 2022 Author Posted November 14, 2022 Here it is ... I am only using the "Dxgi.ll" 3,777KB file from this package. The "D3DCompiler_47.dll" and "openvr_api.dll" are provided by the latest OpenXR and OpenComposite. I did nothing fancy to make it work . . . Just when everything was installed I dropped ReShade into the folder. Hope it works for you! ReshadeVR_4.9.1 Unofficial.rar 2 1

Junaca Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I would like to test it with my G2, can you explain how to install it? " I did nothing fancy to make it work . . . Just when everything was installed I dropped ReShade into the folder. Hope it works for you! " is a bit blurred for me. Also, is it possible to install with OVGME?
Greekbull Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Is this still working? I’m also very interested. Especially if we can use with OVGME. WipeUout Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) For me Reshade was useful to improve sharpness and color but with OXR, I find OXRTK providing a better way. Sharpening in OXRTK is very effective with minimal (if any) increase in GPU FT compared to Reshade costing 2-3 FPS on my system. Same with color adjustments, you can tweak this also in OXRTK. Depending on what you were using Reshade for, OXRTK may be a good and simpler alternative. 3DMigoto is also very good for sharpening and color but with higher FPS cost because of the extra features. Haze reduction is really good also in 3DMogoto but you can use the gamma slider in DCS to reduce haze a well. I use a gamma setting of 1.4 and crank up backlit in my HMD, it is surprisingly good at reducing haze. I have played with the % multiple times while looking out at terrain and buildings as well as inside the cockpit, and I can't recall ever noticing any difference like I had experienced with 3DMigoto. WipeUout Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 You will never get as good a result as with 3DMigoto but close. You need to use CAS and apply at least 80% sharpening to start seeing acceptable result. Nowadays, I use 90% and it is just glorious in the 8kX at native resolution. 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9800X3D, RTX 4090, 96GB DDR 5, MSI Tomahawk 870E, Crucial 2TB x 2, TM WARTHOG COMBO + PENDULAR RUDDER PEDALS, THE AMAZING PIMAX 8K X, Sony 5.1 Spks+SubW | DCS, A-10C_II, AH-64D, F-14/15E/16/18, F-86F, AV-8B, M-2000C, SA342, Huey, Spitfire, FC3.

Most of fps loss is created by the library itself and the insane number of shader calls of the game...As the library compute hash for each shaders, it creates a overhead depending of shaders calls. One pièce in the cockpit : 1 shader call. 1 tree : 1 shader call. 1 line of text written in MFD : 1 shader call...Most of features can be set off and willnot eat fps. But next release will be more modular to reduce shader tracking for some options. Intel i5 10400K @4.8 GHz, 3080ti, 32 GB RAM, Varjo Areo. lt.shifty Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Next question, does any of the above work with MT?

Supmua Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Reshade doesn’t, at least on my setup. The only filter that would load with v4.9 is the VR_CAS_fx and that still only affects 2D mode. To test this, add on/off effect toggle keybind to the setting, drag saturation in Reshade down to zero and watch the desktop screen go to B&W, go back to VR headset no change, hit effect toggle key a few times…no change. Version 5 is also OpenVR only as it works via a separate OpenVR API layer through SteamVR. PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti.
