mamou Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 i have managed to install and got the cougar working on windows 7. I had to uninstall the latest driver...and instead install 3_HCO_2004.exe (6.31MB) - the main Thrustmaster Cougar software, developed by TM. Steps: 1. unplug cougar from usb port. 2. run driver to uninstall previous version 3. run driver again for installation. 4. Plug in joystick( trottle disconnected) with trigger button held in for a few second to clear flash. 5. wait for windows to detect. 6. unplug joystick, connect throttle back, and plug back to usb. 7. run cougar update to install flash 8. enjoy!!!!!

Lancelot Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I got the same problem that the original post, but on windows 7 64bit :(. Sent email to thrustmaster but noh answer for the moment.
Conuk Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 mine is working fine now - I didnt hit `run as administrator` when installing the driver.... (and followed a post elsewhere that suggested installing the original driver as well ... this didnt work) just use the Vista 64 bit driver - good to go.
stevie52 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 sorry to bump this one up again, but i ran into this problem aswell. Told me the DLL was missing. What i did to fix it was to run the installation executable in vista compatibility mode. That installed it without any issues. cheers

LatinoPR1977 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Mamou, before you uninstalled the Drivers, did you have the T.A.R.G.E.T. software downloaded for Windows 7? You just removed the Drivers, then installed the drivers from 3_HCO_2004? Rog
stuart666 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Has anyone tried getting a Cougar working on Windows 8? Would the windows 7 drivers work perhaps?
