When I have to fly at night I do not use the NVG as I cannot configure the cockpit properly and cannot see any of the dials on it, so I use the illumination rockets, but I'm curious, what do you guys use at night?

I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

What headset you have? I use NVGs for general flying. While cockpit is blurry, I can see general needle position for speed, VSI and radar alt. Any attack is unaided with illumination rockets.

I usually cheat by raising gamma. But for accuracy I like them for orientation, but never figured out how to actually fight with them well. It’s just not designed for it. It’s nice when close to the ground at night…… and anything above minimum gain is unbearable

Same for me, the numbers are impossible to read but if You know de dials You can at glance have the data You need only watching needle positions (apart for compass...).

I don't fly the Hind at night.

Not even with human wingman? You should try working as pair with one illuminating while other attacks then you switch. It's just awesome!

Headset? you mean VR? I use a flat screen. Need to try to memorize the needle positions and give it a try!

6 o’clock on speed gauge is cruise speed. 12 o’clock on altitude gauges is 0. VSI is 0 at 9 o’clock. It works, but it’s still a pain

Yeah, my bad for  assuming  that OP uses VR. But it is even worse in VR.

I turn the brightness/sensetivety of the NVG down. So i can see my cockpit without blinding instruments......but flying in the dark with that, makes no fun. Too blurry and fuzzy.

I just turn them on and off, and keep lowest gain. But I have NVG On/Off and Gain Up and Gain Down as Voice Attack commands. Flying in VR too.

Neither did Vietnam era Huey. What's your point?

DCS huey is from like 91 and plausibly had NVG's since its cockpit lighting is actually nvg compatible.

Just a simple question regarding the use of the NVG with the Hind in VR.
When the NVG is used, it's pratically impossible to read something in the HUD when the Petrovitch window is activated.
It's way too flashy in it even if the NVG is set with minimum brightness.
Is there a possibility to decrease the brightness of Petrovitch' command window ?

That's a bug that for some reason affects only part of players base. Some people, like myself, don't have that problem. Disregard mirrors and moving map, it's some sort of clash with one mods I use and MT.
