Wolf1964 Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Hi Folks, having spent a lot of money on the various packs, I'd be more than a little upset if I couldn't play DCS if the internet was down. Is it true that the game can't be played if offline? I don't play multiplayer etc - I just like flying the different models and over the various terains. Wolf
Furiz Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 In the main menu, top of the screen there is offline mode - click on the antenna button in the top panel of the main menu. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/authorization/ 1
rob10 Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 You get a 72 hour window from your last successful online authorization to play offline. If you want a longer solution do as Furiz suggested. And note that you can only change to offline mode while you're online, so if you want to do this don't wait until your internet is down. And IIRC don't make any hardware changes while you're in offline mode or you can cause issues. 1

To prevent people from going off-line and then making a backup of DCS to pass onto a friend so he can play your modules, the off-line mode records your hardware configuration so it can detect if it has been copied onto someone else's PC. This means that you must exit off-line mode before making any change on your PC configuration (including changing your Windows). 2 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Furiz Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 I even noticed that when I update BIOS DCS asks to login again with my user name and password. 1
