George - New interaction with "Lost target" is out of hand

Hello.

I haven't used forums since prob 2007 but this is so absurd i just had to make an account.

So the new George reports are fine, but if you are engaging in an area with lots of foliage, get ready for a headache.

I do not have a trackfile, but i clipped it and uploaded it.

Basically, you recreate either by moving so his vising get obscured by trees or have the target move in an area with high foliage.

ED, you need to limit the amount of voice reports George can send.

It's also the worst place to engage a moving target...

But that doesn't really help, does it?

Does your human CP/G shout at you like this?

Hi, thank you for the feedback, during AH-64D early access and the further development of George AI we will continue to tweak him, so look out for future patches.

thank you

Hi @Hardt0kidnap

Yes, the altitude, distance and angle aren't helping and George seems to constantly loose the target. The spamming of messages is, of course, unintentional, but poor old George is trying to help by reacquiring. Give him a break, he's as frustrated as you.

On the other hand, we need to replicate this specific condition, can you supply a track with this situation happening?

I was also experiencing this on the Syria map where the tree density is lower than it is on Caucasus, for example, and the target was getting "lost" as it went behind every individual tree.

Exactly this.

I know i'm not the best pilot, but i am pretty sure everyone has this issue when there's obstacles. At least wait for 2-3 seconds before he says it like the ATT would.

Idk where to upload the trackfile so here's a google drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19Dj-lUQ5Rr2nUFX5gdhK8e2eIUx3f9ou/view?usp=sharing

Hi,

https://files.fm/f/f2znmbh82

I swear that yesterday, when a comboy was traveling along a road partially obscured by trees and buildings, he repeated every second "lost sight of target" for more than a minute. ^_^

Would it be possible for George to check the visibility of the target every 10-15 seconds instead of constantly?

Thanks

I would rather make it so that george will keep slewing the TADS at the same speed and direction as the target traveled before loosing sight with it (simply anticipating the target movement to a humanly possible extent) and if george can't acquire the target within 5 seconds of loosing sight only then will he stop and report having lost sight of the target.

This would pretty much fix 99% of the unwanted spam of george seeing and loosing the target due to a cluster of obstacles like trees etc. and ensure that a fired Hellfire isn't affected that much by the constant stop and go movement of the TADS.

I think it is obvious that George has some issues with trees or group of trees in line of sight.

I made a little track file for this issue - see attached.

George AI messages (Target lost) really get out of hands when doing a complete turn away from the target in low altitude. It seems like, even when the TADS technically can not have a sight (outside of maximum viewing angle), he reports further and further.

I really need George to shut up - quite unpleasent right now flying the Apache in low altitude combat mode. Hope this can get fixed via hotfix.

I agree poor George needs a break for christmas. So silence him please with that specific line-of-sight command until fixed.

George will continue to get tweaks during early access so please wait for future patches.

For now it is important to be in range and have good line of sight to the targets.

thanks
