Comrade Vodka Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Hi all. After a long time away, I'm getting back into the Harrier, and am looking for a good profile to import for my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. I'd be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm having real trouble finding any. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :pilotfly:
Vakarian Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 The best thing would be to make your own. That way you will learn what each input does and you can customize it to your liking.
Spurts Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Agree. Only I know what inputs I need for the way I fly the plane.
Digitalvole Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 I’m intending to re learn the harrier too (last flown the day before the f18 came out). Yesterday afternoon I just copied the bindings from Chuck’s guide and will tinker as I learn. 2
RaisedByWolves Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Chucks guide will probably be best bet. 1
Chaos_Out Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 As others have said, use Chucks guide as a baseline and then modify to your needs. I try to make my control mappings across the various aircraft as similar as possible to avoid having to re-learn each time i switch aircraft, i.e. flare is always forward, chaff always back, etc. Since the harrier and F/A-18 have similar style controls (even same stick?), use that for reference as well when mapping the misc stuff on the HOTAS. 2 5900x | 3090 | HP Reverb G2
MatzWarhog Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I've decided I want to experiment with the Harrier as well, and I'm also using a TM Warthog. I was looking at Chuck's Guide, and he advises to bind the Nozzle to an axis. Just curious what others have used as the axis on the HOTAS Warthog?? TIA! AMD FX8350 @ 4.2Ghz x 8, Asus M5A99FX Pro UEFI Board, 16Gb RAM @1600Mhz, EVGA GTX660 2Gb DDR5, 120Gig Corsair SSD SATA3 Boot Drive, Dual Corsair SSD FORCE 60Gig for gaming, TM Warthog HOTAS and Cougars, Saitek Proflight Pedals, TrackIR 5 w/Pro Clip, and WAY Too much time on my hands. :pilotfly:

Start with Chuck's Guide and fill the holes as you see fit https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/dcs/av-8b/ 3
Spurts Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 I split the throttles for throttle and nozzle and use the grey slider for the nozzle stop
