A track is required so we can see which clouds pre-set is being used in the mission

please also include your DCS settings including cloud setting

your NVIDIA / AMD graphics settings also

Yes ive notice this too. I fly Vr and its easy to spot. I believe it has to do with how the clouds are built. I fly with clouds on ultra quality.

Just by looking at this I came to the conclusions that clouds are built on a grid matrix because that's exactly what it looks like.  The most basic "cloud" is a small cube then those cubes are combined to make a larger block and those blocks are combined to make large clouds. The lines between these cubes inevitably line up and create straight lines and grid shapes. It should be visible on just about any preset.

Does anyone not notice this is the real question. It was always my guess that it wasn't a "bug" but a design limitation.

I see this pretty much anytime I play. If I look for it. Instant action-Caucuses-f-16- takeoff is a good one to see the effect all over. Shows up most with thinner scattered cloud layers. I use clouds on ultra on 5120x1440 screen

Emailing the tracks across.

Does not matter on the settings in Nvidia or AMD.

I notice more with less clouds (2D) But yes VR they can be more noticeable, Your response may explain the grids.

Hi

some of the older presets presented this issue and they were updated, but you may find you need to pick a new pre-set in the editor for clouds and resave the mission.

  • Thanks 1

We have checked the tracks they are using the older presets.

We are currently working on changing older missions for the new cloud presets, but this will take time.

In short with the newer presets you should see improvement

thank you

This means that each mission created before the update, even those delivered standard with DCS over the years, is having this problem.
Isn't it up to ED to correct that in one single go instead of us opening each mission, select a new preset and save again?
Or is that part of the "fun"?

What does the NVIDIA AMD setting mean? Does it refer to the graphics settings in the DCS options / graphics itself or are there some graphics settings of the computer itself, if someone can explain to me because I don't know what it is about, thanks..
