HI GUYS ANY IDEA ON WHY AT SOME POINT, NIGHT MISSION ON A10C (IN VR), I SWITCH ON THE TGP AND EVERYTHING WORKS...THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IS LIKE BURNING AND OVERWHITENING, IS ABOUT 20 MILES FROM OBJ, THEN YOU CAME CLOSER AND FOR SOME OBSCURE REASON WORKS AGAIN?!?THE DISPLAYS OF COURSE ARE IN NIGHT MODE, TRIED TO WORK ON BRIGHTENESS BUT NOTHING.

ANOTHER STRANGE THING IS THAT FROM A DISTANCE YOU CAN SPOT TANKS ON THE TGP,BUT WHEN YOU ARE CLOSER THEY COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR AND WHATEVER YOU SELECT(BLK HOT/WHT HOT) YOU CANNOT FIND THEM ANYMORE; YOU EVENTUALLY NEED TO GO VERY FAR SPOT THEM AGAIN AND COME CLOSER TO FIRE MAV. ANY IDEA?!?

Been this way a longtime(in pancake mode too) not just in the a-10. I notice this a lot in the harrier too. From 25 miles away I can zoom in and see every object with great contrast to the surroundings, regardless of flir mode.. as you get close they all but completely completely blend into the terrain (cold mind you).  The varying brightness levels also apply to zooming the pod in as well as aircraft distance. As you zoom in and out the contrast and image varies greatly.  Not sure if the enemies blending that well into the terrain is a real thing, but I feel like it shouldn’t be different at range. You almost have to choose either A: you spot them from a long ways away when they’re easy to see and set them all as markpoints or too’s, or B: wait until you fly close enough to start getting shot at, to get an idea of where to look lol I’m not saying it should necessarily be really easy, but a little more consistency would be nice.It seems as though up close, the surface textures are magnified in such a way that they completely blend into the objects, but far away the textures are so fine( maybe the way LOD is processed) that there is a clear contrast between objects and terrain.  But then again perhaps this is the way the real tgp behaves depending on the lighting and situation🤷‍♂️ It is worse on exported displays as well, but thats a whole different set of issues.
