Nealius Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Prior to a recent Nvidia driver update I had good performance on my Q2, but immediately after updating to 528.02 my performance went to hell, with this weird screen warping--imagine the lower half of the screen shifting up/down/left/right for a split second--in the headset (ASW off). Has anyone else had issues with this driver update?
maxTRX Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I didn't notice any obvious difference using Reverb G2. (in SVR)

Has anyone else had issues with this driver update? not recently, though i have seen this. what i did was noted my NCP settings, then restored to default. tried DCS. then set all the settings the way they were prior to restoring defaults. word of note though. i am a 2D player. i personally think the NCP gets corrupted. 1 AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. I also experienced a serious drop in performance with this driver; about 12-15%. I then used DDU and cleanstall, but unfortunately no improvement. Back to the previous driver(again) fixed everything. I guess I'll wait until the next driver;-) My system; Skikk laptop ryzen 5900HX, RTX 3080 165watt max TGP, 64Gb ram@3200mHz ,1Tb samsung 980pro + 1Tb Samsung 980 VR: Quest 2
Nealius Posted January 17, 2023 Author Posted January 17, 2023 (edited) "Performance drop" is perhaps inaccurate wording, since I still have 45fps (half refresh rate) but periodic drops into the 30s, where I get artifacting like a VHS tape having misaligned frames. I did a clean reinstall of the Nvidia drivers but haven't had time to play-test. Edited January 17, 2023 by Nealius
Nealius Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Uninstall and clean with DDU, reinstall of Nvidia drivers did not solve the issue, unfortunately. It's not only with DCS either, but any VR program.
Ramstein Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 you are not the only one with the latest Nvidia drivers sucking,,, they have really screwed them up ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Bader242 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Nealius - Were your drivers up to date prior to installing 528.02 or had you skipped a few updates? I've taken a performance hit with my Q2 - crazy screen tearing and stutters - to the point where it's back in the drawer. I had it running sweet as a nut, even in multiplayer but something just happened and I can't pin it to anything I've done other than the occasional driver update. Have you tried the latest 528.49? I'm about to as I've nothing to lose!
