fastfed Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 I fly with my buddy a lot, I pilot he sits up front. His biggest issue is finding targets, I do not mean finding targets using the systems/cameras, what I mean exactly, I can literally see targets right in front of us, talking less than 1000M, when he switches to use his helmet mounted IHADS to target it, he complains there is always the green nightvision getting in his way. During the day this can be annoying, anyway to get rid of that? I also know that he can switch the camera to my helmet/IHADS but can I hit something to lock? I feel I'm alwways screaming out, "Now now now now" as im bobbing around the area of the target. I mean unless things are not modleled right or were doing it wrong, the KA50 is worlds apart when it comes to this tech (except at night) Thanks
GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Have a look at this thread here. NeedzWD40 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 More clarity is needed. Is he trying to use the TEDAC display or the IHADSS for TADS? Has he tried turning the TEDAC off and using IHADSS exclusively to target? Or has he brought the monocle up when using the TEDAC? Also, are you as pilot utilizing gun and/or rockets to assist his attacks?
admiki Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 It looks like OP and his friend decided to jump into Apache without bothering to learn how to use it.

If your so full of knowledge why don’t you try being a little more constructive in actually helping these guys, who reads a manual from cover to cover before jumping in and having fun anyway.. 2

Because these questions have been aswered multiple times already. First 3 pages of searching AH-64 subforum: First page of YT search: And it is getting old repeating all this for people that can't be bothered to look it up. 1
FalcoGer Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I must agree. I didn't know everything at first either, but I did watch at least wags video to get the basic idea behind how the avionics work before asking specifics on the forum. (Also I did read the manual first)
