Hartsblade Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Watched a number of videos about this HMD today. Looks very promising. I'm very interested in how well it plays in our favorite flight Sims. I'm sure we'll get reports as soon as they roll off the assembly line. VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) After watching the videos, no built-in audio and worse, no built-in 6DF turns me off completely. The FoV has nothing to write home with. We have no idea what the software would be, and given that the Pico4 software is such a subpar, I have a lot of reservations. At this price tag, I see no reason why not going to others "heavier" (sorry pun intended) like the QPro. Edited February 14, 2023 by VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants 2 I Fly, Therefore I Am. skywalker22 Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) Personally I have my own audio even now on G2 Reverb. So this is not an issue here for me. But it would surely require 4090 for 5120x2560. But as said, hardware is not everything, if its not supported by the software. I would say its not very smart idea to preorder it, would be best to wait. ps: there will be audio, in form of audio strap (additional $100) - for those who are interested into it. and Full StreamVR support, that means something good for us as well Edited February 14, 2023 by skywalker22 1
Supmua Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 This could’ve been my next headset had it been more versatile. The pricing is reasonable but sort of let down by fixed IPD, customed face plate that only fits your face, and housing that’s too small to support eyeglasses. The image fidelity/clarity probably will be incredible with the high res OLED screens and narrowish FOV. The Panasonic Shiftall Megane X doesn’t have these shortcoming but quite expensive for what you get. PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti.
