Furiz Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Hey, I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I was watching a CAT launch F/A-18F video and there are some steps in the procedure that we don't have in DCS. Like the aircraft weight check, the tension signal, the max power signal. Maybe we could have that implemented as well, thanks! 3
Foka Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 We don't have dozens of elements of real procedures. This is only a game, there always will be simplifications.
Gremlin17 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 blimey, it takes long enough to launch as it is. no need for more steps.
t1mb0b Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 yep, agree with previous 2 posters. After all I bet you didn't check your G-suit, check your flight plan, and before that don your flight helmet, get your medical docs in order, phone home etc etc You can only go so far in a sim.
MRTX Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I certainly understand the desire not to overcomplify things as long as it doesn't need to be done. Nevertheless DCS is still a simulator, with the goal of the supercarrier being to have the most realistic depiction of a Nimitz class and its operations. The fact is that we're obviously missing some rather important interactions and signals with the Deck crew when preparing for a Catapult takeoff, so i don't see any reason from a gameplay perspective in the light of what the Supercarrier is supposed to be that would speak against implementing afformentioned missing features. 9
SteelPig Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Plane directors are in development. Some stuff from the clip will come to the supercarrier sooner or later. And I like it!
Furiz Posted March 23, 2023 Author Posted March 23, 2023 That would be great, I'd like to have it as real as it can be.
Northstar98 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 (edited) I'm with the OP, I'd rather have as close to the real thing as we possibly can. And I don't understand how "well we don't have x and you don't do y either" is somehow an argument for keeping certain items omitted... The first one is irrelevant for what's being asked for and the 2nd is just an appeal to perceived hypocrisy. In any case the 2nd line of the description of this "game" is this: Quote Our dream is to offer the most authentic and realistic simulation of military aircraft, tanks, ground vehicles and ships possible. I really don't see how it's in any way a problem, when we try and get closer to achieving exactly that.
