The sense of satisfaction in A/A refuelling is worth the time and practice, what satisfaction are you going to get by achieving it with 'make it so easy that I can do it first time = 1', none that's how much, why bother with DCS at all? The F5 hasn't got a velocity vector in the HUD and I can't fly a decent circuit unless I put hours of practice in, can you make it easier for me? you see how ridiculous it's going to get if everything has to have a 'can't be bothered' setting?

yep, agree with previous 2 posters. After all I bet you didn't check your G-suit, check your flight plan, and before that don your flight helmet, get your medical docs in order, phone home etc etc You can only go so far in a sim.

All very well and good, however not a jibe at yourself. A lot of us have invested time into DCS Updater and its ability to handle the many supporting components, like PiTool, SRS, VoiceAttack to name 3. Simply going back to launching DCS.exe with switches leaves those users a bit high and dry. Does anyone know where DCSUpdater stores the command lines for 'VR' and 'non VR', sorry for slight thread drift.

Have no idea what your picture is showing and i dont think the LSO really cares, but they have a huge floating runway and they sail it into wind aiming for little or no crosswind down the angled deck

A lot of overthinking here. Fly in formation until you are comfortable doing that, then get closer. That is all, there is no quicker or better way imo.

indeed, just out of the blue. Sim has been stable for at least a couple of years, now completely unplayable in VR(and 2d but i don't)

is the stutter back, the sim is unplayable now for me, micro stutter every 2-3sec in VR/2d, all modules, random missions

If it's making 30kts, it DOES matter and it matters more because there will be a greater crosswind component ! Jets don't recover with a crosswind ideally, they have enough to contend with. The ship is steered to the starboard to create the optimum WOD down the angle. The sentence reads as though they 'sail into wind', that may not have been the intended sentiment.

you fly the reciprocal heading to the runway whatever the crosswind, ie the track, this will mean your heading is 'crabbed' into wind, you might want to increase or decrease your (parallel) distance from the centreline accordingly

+1 never ever needed to sit up or peer over the nose in the 16, make sure you're sat in a realistic position

2 complimentary tools native in the cockpit, which you can yourself at will select/de-select when and if necessary? - come on, those are constructive ideas. Why discount those and add green boxes to fly through? If you can't line up with a line directly in line with the trap, AND a number on the HSI that tells you the distance from that line, AND an ICLS glideslope thrown in, then re-inventing the wheel isn't going to help your particular wagon to roll.
