Hello

First off sorry if this is the wrong spot for this. I really did put some effort into guessing where this should go.

The obvious is I need to back up my key binding and views. I did this by copying the config folder in Users>"Your PC name>Saved Games>DCS>Config>

I read that this can take some effort to get running again... Is there a better way?

What else should I be backing up?

Im creating a disk image so I should be able to open that image with acronis and get anything I missed but maybe it wont be compatible with win 11... Just making sure.

Thanks

Backing up is always a good idea,

I always backup my config folder in saved games dcs just in case.

But bare in mind on a new pc the hardware ID's will be different for your devices so you may end up redoing controls anyway.

Apart from config sub-folder I'd keep the mission one (if I recall the name correctly?) where your logbook and scripted campaigns progress are stored (plus your own custom missions if you saved any). Some guys install lots of unofficial mods and skins in that location as well, so it's up to you if you've got anything else there worth backing up.

I myself just make a frequent backup of the whole Saved Games / DCS folder (minus old replays and screenshots) and pull bits&pieces out of it when needed.

Unless you are going to do a clean install from scratch I would back up the Eagle Dynamics registry keys. These provide paths to your installations that are used by some other software (e.g. VAICOM). I've seen no indication that DCS itself uses them.
